New AR "Total Commitment" announced

Tue Sep 14, 2010 10:23 pm

The new label Touchdown releases Anaheim, April 24,1973 ES.
The show is fine with Elvis and band being in top shape. The CD-R City To City sounds really good considering the recording format. If they managed to even improve it we have a decent audience recording...

Why..?...These tour shows are fantastic...and taking a CDR as a probable source..I can tell you that the sound is decent..

It's amazing how most fans overlook the content and sound quality in favor of cover design, and then make a conscience (or unconscience) decision to purchase the product. Gotta give kudos to the bootleggers on their marketing strategy.

I'm not seeing anyone saying they'll buy the boot because of the design?

If it's a show that I want to hear, I'm getting the CD. I have not heard this show, so I'm all over it.

It's what I do.

It's called being a collector.

You mean, an Elvis CD Collector? Great idea for a messageboard!

I got it yesterday. Very good show in good sound.
Strong renditions of "How Great Thou Art", "Steamroller Blues" and "American Trilogy".

Performance wise without a doubt. And as I know that you really like audience recordings you can't go wrong with this one.

I received it a few days ago and heard it this weekend. If you're still debating on whether or not to get this, you can stop.

Get the CD.

But it`s the same tape..You can hear a small cut during the intro of Joe Guercio (and the intro of the Orchestra is missing)..on the CDR there`s a cut at exactly the same point..probably tape switch..

I think it's difficult to find always a different source for a show, so working with something that is floating around is fine with me. The result sounds good regarding the fact that the taper had probably relatively simple equipment to record the show. All in all the product looks fine including good liner notes and good pictures.

I'm looking forward to their next release "All In A Blaze". The sample sounds quite good and different to the known sources.
Elvis delivered very good shows in December 1975 with often interesting tracklists.
