Red and Sony West were fired on 13th JUly, together with a third bodyguard, Dave Hebler, who had been employed since 1975. They announced later that they were going to write a book about Elvis that would give a rather different picture of him than the world thus far has seen.
Ten days later after they were fired Elvis had started a new tour and the audience yet again stood queuing uo for hours to secure the best possible tickets.
Tour 20 started on July 23, 1976 friday in Louisville, Kentucky held at the Freedom Hall. 19.400 people attended this concert.

The review -- and that comment -- are actually not complimentary at all.
Under the photo the caption in full reads:
Elvis' pipes are better than ever, maybe, but he only exercised them for an hour last night.
In the review it reads:

Those great pipes are still intact, maybe better than ever.
But Elvis hasn't done anything musically meaningful in a decade or so, and his concert presence is testimony only to the residual momentum of one of the industry's classic careers.

He had done nothing meaningful for a decade? Really? From 1966 to 1976 there was nothing meaningful? The '68 specail, the '69 sessions, the '69-70 Las Vegas seasons, a grammy winning album, a number 2 single in Burning Love, Aloha From Hawaii, etc....were not meaningful?

Maybe so, but to the 12-year-old me, seeing Elvis at that Louisville show---and my first concert, to boot---it was nothing short of magical from beginning to end. All of the images in this thread are from my page, which has been posted around here a few times.
