Reviews from Pine Bluff, Sep 7 and 8, 1976 wanted

The only thing I could fine was on Francesc's site. I put the link below. It is from The Courier News, September 9, 1976. While it doesn't speak directly about the performances per se, it's all I've seen so far. I will keep looking...

A Pine Bluff review from an FECC member who was there, FrankieRider2:

The show on 9/8 that we attended my aunt went down to the stage for a closer look and came back crying...not tears of joy, either. So my Mom decided not to go down to the stage, not knowing it was the last time we'd see him. She regrets that now, despite Elvis' condition.

Meant to come back to this thread, my apologies.

The show I saw in Pine Bluff was OK with some stronger points interspersed along from a performance standpoint, and probably pretty standard from that period. I havent heard any other shows from this tour. After the regal-like entrance, it was a lot more like a large group of friends getting together and one just happened to sing. There wasn't a hard-nosed concert vibe at all.

I do recall Elvis being in good spirits and patient with overzealous fans. I remember him making a stir after the 2001 theme by pulling the curtain back and flashing his leg real quick before shutting it...and then walking out.

I know that my uncle and his family who saw the show on 9/7 were not exactly impressed by what they saw. The last Elvis they had seen was Aloha Elvis.

I will say it was not nearly as good as the 1976 Memphis show from July. We may have not seen Elvis off in his best form, but outside of being at a December 1976 show....I'm glad Pine Bluff was our finale. I don't think I could have taken what came the next year....
