Hi tony. I edited the video using the many split screens seen in the movie using the angles one might miss when watching the movieTony Trout on Wed Mar 14, 2018 5:35 pm wrote:I'm alsoa huge fan of the Hampton Roads, VA performance from April 9, 1972. My favorite is the released Memphis 74 album. That includes the edited down Amen. BTW, no dive bomb in the performance from 2-12-77 I attended, you know.

Re: Favourite version of I got a Woman ?
Thanks Juan for that memory. Why do you think that was? Do you think Elvis was "thrown off" a bit because of the guitar strap breaking? An interesting memory nevertheless.Juan Luis on Wed Mar 21, 2018 9:59 am wrote:My favorite is the released Memphis 74 album. That includes the edited down Amen. I realize that some who never attended the later shows become, shall we say, "annoyed," when they hear the "dive bomb" routine on disk. However, when you were at the shows watching what Elvis was doing, in the environment, and hearing J.D. Sumner's amazing voice, I always felt it was pretty cool.

Exactly. I think he skipped the dive on 2-12-77 cause he was very up and the pacing throughout the show is good until towards the end he slows down a bit..but still energetic.rlj4ep on Wed Mar 21, 2018 12:43 pm wrote:Thanks Juan for that memory. I can't imagine attending a show in 1977 and not getting a J.D. Sumner "dive bomb."rlj4ep on Wed Mar 21, 2018 9:43 am wrote:Thanks Juan for that memory. Why do you think that was? Do you think Elvis was "thrown off" a bit because of the guitar strap breaking? An interesting memory nevertheless.
