No problem, I think I like them because they aren't as simple as the early suits but they aren't over the top like later.

my favourite jumpsuit design is the peacock suit but my favourite for how it looks when worn on stage is the chain suit as worn in ttwii.

My favorite has always been the I got lucky suit. Most likely because it was one my first Elvis albums and like the gold suit it made an impression. But Elvis's 1970-1971 jumpsuits have always been my favorite, like an earlier posts said less is more.

Easier to name my least favorite.

I like most of them. He looked great in 1969 and the two-piece outfits he wore then, especially the 'herringbone' ones somewhat modeled from karate gis, were very cool and minimalist. The first of the increasingly heavy studded suits, those from the latter part of 1971 and through On Tour were cool looking and definitely created a visual signature, as did the jeweled suits when he started to wear them in the November, 1972 tour. The Aloha suit is probably the most iconic of all and, if I HAD to pick just one, it's possible I'd go for this one. Still, the increasingly busy and spectacular jeweled suits were sights to behold, and outfits like the Target, Sunlight, Spanish Flower, and Today suits perhaps most fully bolster my contention that Elvis' stagewear became not just costumes but legitimate works of art. They also became increasingly heavy, and the final phase of Elvis' jumpsuit evolution, the embroidered suits, included some that were phenomenally gaudy but still favorites of mine (tiger, dragon) as well as relatively ('relatively' being an important qualifier) understated outfits like the rainbow and peacock suits.

Like I said, it'd be easier to name my least favorite suits, and even these looked at least halfway decent on him at times -- it happens that the reign of these suits also coincided with Elvis durign periods of physical lows but I find the suits themselves not especially appealing, and probably would even if he'd still been a slender Adonis in them: the two bicentennial suits and the white V-neck suit from 1975-76. Not especially fond of the Sundial suit, though perhaps more because it was the wrong choice for Elvis' physique in 1977, and from the earlier years I always felt like the suit known by many fans as the "Now" suit, the 1971 suit with the conchos, just wasn't anywhere near as flattering as most and somehow made Elvis look far beefier than he was at that time. Some suits that I initially thought were downright ugly -- the Gypsy and the Blue Aztec (the later really was pretty much an eyesore) kind of grew on me and some tat I thought were total nonevents, like the 1975 'rainfall' suit, I came to see as much more once I saw the suits close-up. Never used to like the 1972 phoenix suit, too -- always thought it looked more like a vulture -- but that one kinda grew on me, too, even though it's no Aloha suit...'twas kind of a dry run at the Aloha design, I'm guessing.

He looked his most stunning in the cisko kid suits. Pretty much all his 2-piece suits ('69, '72, '74, '75) were great. From the latter years I think the Gypsy suit looked good, it just worked somehow. Anything he wore with that gold belt he looked great that.

My favorite jumpsuit has to be the first Snowflake suit, aka Spectrum jumpsuit. That one closely followed by the Red Phoenix suit

It is hard to look further than the suits when Elvis was himself at his trimmest. The 1969 ones were cool and would not look stupid if worn now onstage. I like the shirt and trousers from Vegas 72, and also the leather ones in 74.

The two-pieces ALWAYS worked best. In the early days - the 50s and early 60s, he wore a coat and slacks. People forget that! it really adds something to be able to grab the jacket! It helps the look of the movement.

Not having a jacket is like not having a mic cord.
