Beatles LP Influenced By Elvis & Question about a photo

hey PEP,

I wanted to let you know i've had a look at the Beatles website
you provided a link to. Unfortunately they would not allow my
direct entry and so i had to join up. What about you PEP did ya
also had to join up over there too?
Nope I said I knew the Doc and they let me post.... and then I said "Do you know who Iam?? And they said Nope, and I said, OK Then.... this won't do... Sorry, just kidding around... Yes, I had to to join as well....


I put together a piece where i thought it would fit in context
under the classic albums category and then in the thread "Sgt Peppers
overated".

You were right as that particular website does not seem to be quite
as large and colorful as ours. So i don't know whether to expect any
response anytime soon!

Pep, i also made a point of mentioning, "if someone (Beatles diehard)
has the definitive answer to the indentity of the headless photo", that
you would, just this once, give them free entry but only in context of
this thread. Is that fine with you?
Well, it really isn't up to me...Robt....if they or anyone wanted to post they would still just have to go through the proper channel's of setting up an profile to post....

hey PEP,

i guess if there is a BEATLES fan at that particular website that
has the answer then they'll have no hassle coming into our FECDC
messageboards.

PEP (whisper, whisper) that particular Beatles website is too slow
and lets face it, may not get a response anytime soon (end of whisper).

What about trying for another Fab four website? If you can find one, i'll be sure to follow your example!

Yea I don't see a response on that website anytime soon, actually I was a little dissapointed in looking over other Beatle forums, they all appear at least the ones I saw didn't have that much activity ....

Bottom line tho when I have time I may join another few to try and get the answer we are looking for....

Because I am just as curious as you are as to who that is supose to be.....

Thank you for your concern. Actually on The Beatles forum i made a point of mentioning, "For Elvis CD Collectors" and not abrievated FECDC. At any rate,
i do not expect a reponse any time soon. Whilst the layout is similar
to this website, it just doesn't have the numbers amazingly enough and possibly needs
another DJC to fire things up over there.

Little Darlin:' one more point: In future, can you wait until i've directed
a question to you before you reply. If you observe my posts i normally
address them to a member first before i write a subject. Other posts if i don't
mention a member by name then that subject is aimed at anyone Okey Dokey!

One more point: in future can you make a note of who you're excluding in your posts on a public forum. If you observe FECC postings they are normally available to be read and responded to by anyone. Other posts for the exclusive attention of others are generally called "Private Messages" a convenient little feature provided in the Forum Options, under ''Welcome to The FECC Forum at the top of each page.

EP only made a comparison with that and Little Darlin because He isn't too keen on listening to it at the Kings Court Radio Show but He tolerates it....He says it's like giving a Kitten a ball of wool to play with (meaning Me) when it comes on.

eeeeeee! I love Little Darlin', have ever since Moody Blue was one of the first albums I ever bought! And, I've always thought it fitting that one of the first online Elvis fans I should have the pleasure of calling a friend is named the same.

And I might change "kitten" and "ball of wool" for "nurse" and "stethoscope" next time its played in our company

I've always fancied myself as MTM - now where did I put that Bandage?

I asked the question about the figurine and for any knowledge about the story in a Beatles forum I visit. These guys a fairly hardcore and most are big Elvis and Scotty fans too. I had dinner with some of them in Anaheim a few years ago when I was at the NAMM show and at the prop shop going over the gear inventory/shot list for the CBS Elvis mini series.
One of the guys was the guy that wrote that Beatles Recording gear book that someone mentioned. If anyone will know, someone there will. I'll check back.

This leaves Sir George Martin. Anyone out there knows how we can possibly reach him?

PEP, have you tried any of the Beatles newsgroups with your question? I just wondered over to alt.music.beatles and there's a thread started by our own Tits McGee, but not about this subject.

So far no one seems to know anything more definite beyond hearing the same type of rumors. Its quite likely the speculation about the figure covered up by the light might have propagated enough for people to think it was Elvis. One of the guys posted that he "read an account from Mal Evans who said he couldn't believe they had "forgotten" Elvis (Mal was a HUGE Elvis fan). To me, that implies that no Elvis figure was ever created. " Mal was originally a bouncer at the Cavern club who then became a road manager for them and body guard through their breakup. He was also in attendance I believe when they met Elvis.

They did however post some very cool photos of the setup for the photo shoot from the book "Blinds & Shutters".

These images are absolutely fascinating. Here is a moment where a band is on the cusp of touching an entire generation.

In looking carefully at all these pictures, it is very likely that the male dummy we see wearing trunks may is the mysterious head-obscured figure we were hoping was Elvis.

Looking at the dummy's face, and revisiting the lamé outfit on the original picture in question, it may well be Rory Storm, Liverpool musician and friend.

The pictures are all very cool....!

was there right in front of everyone's eyes if they
owned the Sgt Pepper CD....

the disc....

With all this talk recently I thought I would listen to
the album on to the way to work last night, when
I came home I thought what the heck before I put
it away I might as well look at the insert,.....
I almost fell over....the picture was there all along

One thing I have to say as great as this album is, one
does have to be in the mood....and I do mean really
in the mood....

It's been some time since I've listen to the Beatles, I
use to listen to them all the time some 30 odd years ago.....
an then as years went by I would take a break an would
get back into them for a spell...but of course I would always
end up going back to listening to Elvis for even longer stretches,
years at a time instead of weeks or months for any other
entertainer actually.....

Nevertheless as one gets older you certainly listen for
different things in the music from the lyrics, to the music
to the voices.....

Here's the deal when it really comes down to it no matter
who it is and how talented either a group or a solo singer
is....once you have the feel and understanding of one of
the Greatest Singer's of all time...

You just know with all of his faults combined There still is
nothing like ELVIS !
