That Sundial thing was horrible no matter if it was in Oct. 74 or in 77. Elvis look like fat dung beetle in it.

Extreme was the jumpsuit itself. The most unflattering one, emhasizing the paunch + extra wide belt making whole look even worse.

Someday's Elvis looked good in the Sundial Suit and some Day's He didn't..it's as plain and simple as that.

The problem (not mentioning Elvis overweight condition) was the design itself. Belew & Co. created a lot of gaudy jumpsuits. But even in 77 Elvis looked better in something like King Of Spades. And he looked the best in his DEA jogging suit . 8)

Etymology, entomology or Egyptology?

Tue May 01, 2007 1:40 am

It was just as ugly in '74 as '77. A big round object on your chest will make the skinniest man look heavy. Bad,bad, choice.

Say all we like about the suit (which I like, perhaps sentimentally I'll grant you) but, look behind our guy looking timeless, I'd rather wear a Bellew & Co. than the Laverne and Shirley design poor Sherrill is squeezed into.

Your reference should read 10% -- and perhaps include good ol' J.D, given that photo.

Elvis loved them both.

Beautiful....just Beautiful!!

A larger, clearer copy of that June 21 photo shows a man covered in makeup in an attempt to mask his unwell state. He later self-consciously mentions the heavy makeup during the show, too.

His smile does not hide the pain, embarassment and fear in his eyes. It is so sad to see Elvis Presley in such a condition. And to think all the house lights were up, and the CBS cameras shooting him from every angle.

Entomology?

What does Treebeard have to do with the Sundial Suit?

But more importantly, do you think it will ever be released professionally?

C'mon Doc, you know you want a deluxe DVD of the EIC footage as well as a 200 page book of photos from the event like Lew.
