The 74 astrodome footage is actually really good, although it dosent last very long. Just 5 or 6 minutes off the top of my head.
I've never seen any sort of pro footage from there.

Christian, you beat me to it. I have the George Klein video, and the colour footage is there, with Elvis wearing black, and a red tie. It's great footage,and there's a moment where Elvis has his head cocked to one side, smiling, and it looks just like I'll remember you from Aloha.

Anyway, Jordan's shot himself in the foot with his appraisal of the list, as if he can be so wrong about some colour footage that enjoyed widespread release on VHS, as well as being shown on TV, then he can be wrong about the other footage too.

Ok, if there's "pro" footage, who did shoot it? TV crew? For example, the supposed footage of Vegas '69; I have read the filming was for Parker's private collection, however, who came up with this? Any reliable source?


By the way, the MSG footage is the same I have in a DVD I bought 3 years ago in Towe Records, I think it was shot by the NBC or ABC.

some have filmed airports arrival entrance hotel leaving hotel to auditoriums ,concerts clips etc
how many hold serious fans remember have seen on local tv programs
this tv news clips,how many fans remember have seen cameras from Vegas show room balcony,and inside 70s tours auditoriums

just take for example phoenix september 70 concert
majority of peoples here has seen footage of the audiance by 3 cameras angles,how many before we seen this footage has clamed remember has seen this cameras,when fans go to Elvis shows they are focused on the stage and not seen the cameras or don t remember,but it s evidence large cameras and crews are well here during this concert

they shoot many films during the 70s for tv news
some have filmed airports arrival entrance hotel leaving hotel to auditoriums ,concerts clips etc
how many hold serious fans remember have seen on local tv programs
this tv news clips,how many fans remember have seen cameras from Vegas show room balcony,and inside 70s tours auditoriums

just take for example phoenix september 70 concert
majority of peoples here has seen footage of the audiance by 3 cameras angles,how many before we seen this footage has clamed remember has seen this cameras,when fans go to Elvis shows they are focused on the stage and not seen the cameras or don t remember,but it s evidence large cameras and crews are well here during this concert

There were definitely cameras filming certain events, like concerts, airport arrivals etc. Some people who have actually seen tv reports in the Seventies mentioned a.o. Elvis arriving at the concert venue in L.A. Forum 1974 and concert footage from Pontiac Michigan, 12-31-1975.

Many more must exist. The problem is locating the footage, I have spent many an hour contacting local tv stations, mostly what I heard was that the vaults were thrown away, they couldn't be bothered looking for footage and so on. Surely some of this stuff found its way to collectors, friends at tv stations who 'saved' some things, you name it.

Also, there is no commerical interest unfortunately in this kind of stuff. Of course for us fans it would be fantastic to see such 'fly on the wall' footage, but can you imagine a company putting out a dvd with such snippets (providing they could locate it at all)?

I mean, just look at Hot Shots and Cool Clips, there is fantastic footage on this dvd but we are talking about a couple of thousands copies what Joe can sell. If unseen footage of the Jaycees breakfast cannot sell a hundred thousand copies, neither will a dvd with Elvis arriving in Huntsville and Los Angeles. Those are the grim facts.

EPE has the money and capabilities to find footage like this, but they know they cannot reclaim their investment.The general public wouldn't buy a DVD filled with snippets from Indianapolis, LA, Huntsville or whatever. They buy the Aloha show or TTWII if they are interested in the man. Only die-hard fans would buy something like that and then we are talking about maybe 2.000 copies, not enough to get the original investment back! Money talks.

The Jaycees footage was sold a couple of years back for 20.000 dollars, and yes by a mega-collector, not by EPE!

Just for your interest, apart from professional footage, there is still plenty left of 8mm footage that would be great to see, the collector I just mentioned has pristine 8mm footage of Elvis having dinner in some restaurant late 1970, dressed in his black crushed velvet suit. Some fan just happened to be there too and had a camera with him, talk about luck But this will most probably never be seen by the public, if only EPE was as fanatic about finding stuff like this.

Another 8mm film exists of Elvis walking down the steps of Graceland dressed in his PJ's. Mary Jenkins filmed him briefly coming down and what did she do with the film years later? Yes, she GAVE it to Priscilla, how much chance do you think we have Mrs. 'Presley' will include this in the Anthology DVD??

When The Beatles did their Anthology they did just that. They searched all over the world for unseen footage from local tv-stations and fans. They paid for the rights and used it in the show. EPE could do that but I'm not holding my breath.

I have sen that MSg footage before, only a few seconds of it really...recently that "Tope 50 Moments at MSG" special had some additional footage of June 9 that I hadn't seen before...I'm guessing that's where those screencaps are from?

the footage exist

concerning footage of local tv station i have contact more of hundred tv stations and seen work papers from this ,i work for international congrest tv and video and have the luck to meet some peoples from nbc abc cbs
who drive me in good way and permit me to have local tv stations mail phone etc ...
