I hope my editing of your post captures your point. I must be one of these people, who, if they won the lottery would buy a Gold Plated Ford Mondeo :D

I think Padre is fantastic - especially the ending - it really does it for me. I think Elvis does sound strained and would have bettered it with more takes or perhaps trying it on another day but what a song to show off Elvis' voice!! It is worth noting that I consider the lyrics of a song for the most part not really relevant when it comes to Elvis.

Anyway - there you go - this why Elvis is ELVIS FOR EVERYONE

I wish this thread had not reached three pages so far (even though I've just added to it). It's quite pointless.

When was the last time we had three pages of nothing else but praising Elvis' music?

Worst song

Wed Jan 10, 2007 3:26 pm

- Any live rendition of HOUND DOG from 1973 onwards.
- Song of the Shrimp
- Steadfast, Loyal and True
- Queenie Wahinie
- Wolf Call
- The Meanest Girl in Town
- Do the Clam
- Big Boots
- Five Sleepy Heads
- When I'm Over You
- Love Me
- Poor Boy
- I'm not the Marrying kind
- Slicin' Sand
- Barefoot Ballad
- Santa Lucia (is this really Italian?)

Well, that's more than enough for a GREATEST sh*t VOL. 2 alblum, alblum.

Jerry Nodak comments follow:

- Song of the Shrimp (I like it. Gets a bad rap)
- Steadfast, Loyal and True (Even KC had clunkers)
- Queenie Wahinie (Bad)
- Wolf Call (Like it. OOOOW)
- The Meanest Girl in Town (Love It)
- Do the Clam (Fun song, even if you can't "Clam")
- Big Boots (You hate Lullabyes?)
- Five Sleepy Heads (See above)
- When I'm Over You (Good song. Well Sung)
- Love Me (Huh?? You're Kidding??)
- Poor Boy (Yes, this stinks)
- I'm not the Marrying kind ( Elvis preferred this over "Sound Advice"??)
- Slicin' Sand (Great groove. You really need to take dance lessons)
- Barefoot Ballad (I love it in the movie though)
- Santa Lucia (is this really Italian?) ( I have no idea, but I have no problem with the song).

Well, that's more than enough for a GREATEST sh*t VOL. 2 alblum, alblum.

Not all sh*t. Just slightly "poopy".

Worst song

Thu Jan 11, 2007 3:27 pm

Well I forgot one or two...

- There's no room to rhumba in a sports car
- A house of sand
- The last farewell
- He's your uncle, not your dad

This together with my first list would almost make a 2-CD "Greatest sh*t" or "Poopy" alblum, alblum. You s..., you all.

Yes, it's an ode to Santa Lucia (suburb of Naples - Italy) - written by Cottrau - Longo in 1835 and made immortal by Caruso.
Other Neapolitan classics are 'O sole mio' and 'Torna a Surriento'.
