You're supposed to pick a standout track not a principle!!!

We have a lot of 69 CDs, what makes this one extra special?

Is it stereo?

Yes of course mine is on the way :-)

So is there actually anything new on this disc or is it just a compilation of previously released bootlegs/FTDs etc. ?

Unless I'm reading something wrong, this CD offers the complete, uncut sessions that yielded several masters.

All this material is covered in 66 minutes?

Wed Nov 29, 2006 10:43 pm

This is only Volume One. There are more coming.

I believe the focus is on the hit singles, six to be exact.

Actually, only 3 songs have multiple takes on Vol 1 ('In The Ghetto' Takes 1-12, 'Suspicious Minds' Takes 1-7, 'Kentucky Rain' Takes 1-9). 'Rubberneckin' is preceded by a short rehearsal (Take 2 is the master) and there are undubbed acetates of 'Mama Liked The Roses' and 'Don't Cry Daddy'.

My question remains, is any of this new?

Yes, I know. And what I'm asking is, do the "complete" sessions that yielded these hits time out to 66 minutes? It doesn't sound like that would be enough time, but I guess I'll know soon enough.

As ChrisM has asked several times.....is there anything new on the disc ?

Wed Nov 29, 2006 11:43 pm

im looking farward to this it would be great if its all in stereo but i think it will be mostly in mono apart from the stereo takes that were on the unsurpassed masters box sets i hope im wrong and its all in stereo but it will be a good set anyway american sessions are amoung the best :D and with inproved sound and great booklet i look farward to it

We didn`t have the complete In The Ghetto sessions before.
I doubt we have them now...I think we just get what we had before
in a complete chronological way...

...and presumably improved sound, and I"m betting, a great booklet.

Not if they have just been ripped from previous CDs.

On this release it's the "Harmony Vocal Overdub" of 'Mama Liked The Roses' that appears, so the pure undubbed master is still, as yet, unreleased! The rest has been released before in drips and drabs, but never as complete as it is here, and not in this sound quality.

To my ears, these tracks are not ripped off from other releases - This is the best they've ever sounded, as complete (or really - partially complete) sessions!
