I was surprised as well that this is the posters first post. Maybe the poster and the seller are one and the same.....and this was just an advert for their own gain

Stan from Tintane wrote:he says the box is unopened- it's number 1 and that the single inside is number 1.
my question is how does he know this?
the singles inside did not correspond to the box number and it's unopened.

suspicious?
maybe he just assumes it does as its box 1, in looks like its still in packaging

Yes, you're right there.

Over £100 for a cardboard box with one 3-track CD inside - and it still hasn't hit the seller's reserve. No thanks! That sort of money could buy a decent FTD collection - for instance.

No sig.

That is a f@#*ing con for sure.

What kind of moron would bid on that??

Anyone could get an un-numbered box and an un-numbered single and print 00001 on them!!

& like others have said the box # and the CD # did not correspond no way no how!!!

Con Con Con!!!!!!!

BMG should have left these as limited editions, not suddenly realise they could cash in and then flood the market with non-numbered editions. The whole point of limited editions is the rarity factor. And its not like they removed the white boxes where the numbers were printed from the non-numbered editions, so yes, many 'rare numbered editions' can now be created.

BIG AMEN!! To that.

Just money grabbing!! Greedy bast~rds.

It opened the floodgates to rip off merchants. In the days of just the numbered versions it was quite exciting to get a low number. I got 00011 of It's Now Or Never and thought it was awesome!!!

Now it has been de-valued to nothing, not in monetary terms but in experiential terms!!!

Here is what seller said when I asked how he knew it was CD No. 1.

"Well to be honest i assumed for each numbered box the 1cd single you recieve with each box was the number of the box, so i assumed the number of the single in this box was 00001. This is genuinely the number 1 box. I realise how lucky i was to have come across this at my Hmv store that i worked at, ive had a few questions saying i couldve printed this and yeah i couldve but no i havent as it would not be worth it for me in the long run. This is the real deal, and i really dont want to sell this item, but desperately need to raise cash for my big move.
This box still has the original packaging that i bought this in.
Thank you for the interest!

Nick"

* Who would say something like that if he wasn't the seller trying to push the prize?

* The seller's Ebay feedback is not exactly reassuring.

* There are some similarities in style of writing between the seller's statement quoted by Bigredg and the posts of "thebrad".

Be careful.

Come on, guys, this is not a con. Cut the guy some slack. thebrad said he would offer £200 for his own object. How is it a con if you pay money to yourself? I believe in you, thebrad, and I will watch this auction, awaiting your bid. I’m sure you’ll win. Good luck!

What an amazing coincidence that both the eBay seller and "thebrad" use "i" instead of "I" for the first person singular.

If anyone was going to bid on something the last thing they would do rationally is to tell other people about the sale because that way they might attract an interest that might out bid them.

That may sound obvious to the point that it doens't need saying.

But thebrad, why did you tell us on here about this auction if you were going to bid on it ?

Whilst thinking and / or compiling your answer I'd like you to remember that within a single digit amount of posts you've managed to say you think that Chris is an idiot.

£370 and still not reached the reserve!!

And looking at the bids is VERY interesting!!

If our Friend Brad bid £200, he must have also bid either £360 or £370 (or both!!)

I reckon he is Bidder 3 and the seller, but that is just a hunch!!
