I'm just saying it's kind of double standard. McCartney buys another artist's publishing rights and it's ok because McCartney is a popular figure. Jackson does it and he's a jerk because he's not a popular figure. Suppose some big conglomerate would have outbid both Jackson and McCartney we wouldn't be condemning Jackson. And we probably wouldn't care enough to condemn the big conglomerate. It may be unfair but Jackson won the bid for a valuable product.

Maybe you missed JLGB's quote right before you (did you both post at the same time?) but he more than answers your charge against McCartney! The widow benefited from Macca's purchase!

Again, it's the Jacko difference that he'd bid against another artist's attempt to own his own songs.

He's looking more and more like a cretin and there's little way around it.

The best thing to be said about his financial, legal and facial meltdown is that Elvis and his own much-publicized flaws are slowly but surely being forgotten in comparison and certainly forgiven.

Nothing is more sure than Elvis and Beatles are biggest sellers, and in that order. Than comes guys like Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra.
