I'm just saying it's kind of double standard. McCartney buys another artist's publishing rights and it's ok because McCartney is a popular figure. Jackson does it and he's a jerk because he's not a popular figure. Suppose some big conglomerate would have outbid both Jackson and McCartney we wouldn't be condemning Jackson. And we probably wouldn't care enough to condemn the big conglomerate. It may be unfair but Jackson won the bid for a valuable product.

Again, it's the Jacko difference that he'd bid against another artist's attempt to own his own songs.

The best thing to be said about his financial, legal and facial meltdown is that Elvis and his own much-publicized flaws are slowly but surely being forgotten in comparison and certainly forgiven.
