Excellent! Thank you.

I look forward to this release. A collection of probably Elvis' most
underrated performances... an absolute classic with Elvis in his prime.

This will be an awsome release!

It looks like they included everything.

Not to be too picky, but I hope the've also included the short false starts,
ie: before take 1 of His Hand in Mine there is a short false start. There are several other examples like this through out the session.

Also, according to the great Master and Sessions site - there is only takes
1,2,3 of I'm Gonna Walk Dem Golden Stairs with 1 being the master. This list shows there being complete takes 4 and 5. Am I missing something here?

One more observation: The master of Crying in the Chapel is included with the 'singles'. The master is take 3.

But in the 'sessions' section it shows they include CRYING IN THE CHAPEL (takes 2,3-M) 3:16

So does this mean the master is on here twice?

Thanks to Ernst, Roger, Sebastian, and Kevan for the great work!!

One positive note - order this FTD from Graceland's approved site, Shop Elvis, and expect delivery by Easter (maybe)!

I just revisited the Master and Session site and it has been updated since I printed off the session page for His Hand in Mine 3 years ago.

I stand corrected.

Wow!! I order all my FTDs from shopelvis. I've always gotten exactly what I ordered, in great shape, with no problems, in 7 business days or less.

Can't wait to get my hands on "His Hand In Mine".

Jerry,

Have you obtained "Let Yourself Go" from "Shop Elvis"? This was released October 1st and "Shop Elvis" expects to send orders November 14th! I've had my order in with "Shop Elvis" since September!

In the future, I intend to order from a more reputable organization!

No. I haven't ordered Let Yourself Go yet. I'm behind and other titles are of higher priority. eg: Something For Everybody.

I've never had a problem with an order either, but at times, they certainly can be slow. The latest FTD is one of those times.

i kind of figured they would include everything just like on the something for everybody ftd.
i like having every take on one project instead of being spread across 100 different cds.

Wed Nov 08, 2006 12:11 pm

This certainly looks like a great release!

I'm glad they included Surrender and Crying In The Chapel (ref the previous speculations among fans if these would be included or not).

This will be a smasher! :D

Looks awesome. I love the Surrender outtakes and it will be cool to have them in better quality.

Recording Surrender

Thu Nov 09, 2006 12:01 pm

Bill Porter had the runs or something and that is why that is an inferior recording compared to the others.

Thu Nov 09, 2006 2:55 pm

The unused remainder of Bill's toilet roll from that day came up on ebay recently.

I've always wondered a bit about the cover(s) for His Hand In Mine.

There was another cover used, the one with only Elvis' face surrounded by black and blue (you know what cover I mean) - was this one the UK cover version, or..?

I have the "blue" cover art version on cd as well, from some years back, but I've always speculated a bit on the origin of this one..?

Glad if someone could elaborate on this subject and ease my mind once and for all on this...!

That was a reissue - not the original UK sleeve.
