A Profile Vol. 3 - Fort Baxter Jr!!!

Fri Oct 06, 2006 2:58 am

Hello!

The label that will release A Profile Vol. 3 with four Huntsville shows is called Fort Baxter Jr.

http://home.online.no/~ov-egela/news.html

Perhaps they are related to Fort Baxter (Sr).....:-)

Cover to be "announced" soon!

Regards

I heard that one of the people involved used to be the person responsible for crapo releases like "Elvis at the Dome".
Hope that his standard has gotten a bit higher by now...

I thought we had established here that this four-disc box set was indeed a hoax and announced prematurely by mistake and will not be released? So it does really come out now in competition with the Madison releases of the same shows? It looks like someone made a pretty penny from these summer '75 shows, obviously selling them to multiple parties, that are now rushing to get them out...

... It was established here, this box set was a hoax...

Really, thenexte? Established by whom...? You...?

HAHAHA Fort Baxter Junior.

What a nice solution ;-)

Sure you know that ol' country saying:
"Down in the drain the box set goes
if Fort don't know what Baxter does."

I dont think FB Jr. is related to the original FB. Madison and Fort Baxter are ''one''.

... Madison and Fort Baxter are two, 3577.

Maybe ' junior' is an unlawful child from a one night stand of the two?!

Two different names, you mean? Been told (by my import-dealer, he could be wrong, but i doubt it) that FB and Madison are the same people.

Otherwise i dont see the logic why Madison and FB Jr. releasing the same material.

So the child must be adopted.

... Nobody has stepped forward yet, to adopt the little rascal...

Another victim of divorced parents ? It's a cruel world out there.

... yes siree!

Give Angelina Jolie A little more time, she will get to it. Then she will make Brad Pitt adopt him as well.

He really needs to check his sources before misinforming people.

To be honest, i really don't care who or what are behind those labels. Still, i do believe what ive heard.

Then tell me ChrisG, what's the story behind all of this? You seem to know.

Ger, I thought it was you who said that the Norway site misinterpreted Madisons announcement that it was releasing 2 shows from Huntsville 1975, leading to a vicious rumour that there was this Profile Box Set Vol 3??

:smt021 <---- a vicious rumour

Someone is behind the Madison lbl & someone else is behind the Fort Baxter lbl. This is all I know.

I hear what I hear.... but I don't know the story behind any of these releases for sure. I personally don't get involved with such material, although friends do & you pick things up in conversations.....

The only reason I made such a bold statement was only due to the fact I've heard the same stories off of different people. I dunno, maybe your guy is right.... he's the import dealer.

... Re-read the "old" topic on these Huntsville shows. Its on page 2,

I believe? Its all a bit confusing [ and a heap of fun]. Maybe the

madison people can clear up what their plans are? What I do know

is the artwork for the 4cd box [ cd size] will be on the screen this

weekend. I believe on the one who started this topic, last night...

Fri Oct 06, 2006 9:59 pm

It is very confusing!!!

Here is the artwork anyway!!

One point that Junior has failed to mention so far is that the two shows that they are adding are very incomplete, with large chunks of the show openings missing (one of these soundboards begins with 'All Shook Up') and the endings are missing too.
Sounds like rip-off city to spread this material over 4 CDs.

... Im not aware of any postings here by Junior himself.

As you know so much about the contents of the june 1st [?]

shows, be our guest and share the tracklisting of these, here

with us. And while on it, whats the sound quality like, bob?

Sun Oct 08, 2006 12:16 pm

Ger, you are welcome to correct the info I have given, if you feel that any of it is wrong. Be my guest.

... Im not in the position to correct you, as I have not heard the

june 1st shows myself. Thats why I asked you to tell us more...

... and jumping to the conclusion this set will be a rip off, is a bit

early. No wholesale/ retail prices for this set are yet known. Maybe

its damn cheap?!

Sun Oct 08, 2006 1:02 pm

A release date would be welcome too.

Since you appear to be hyping the Junior (Smith?) set here at the expense of the Madison release, it is only fair to assume that you are the go-to guy for all the latest details. Otherwise, it would be hard not to conclude that your partisan postings are based on a grudge against one of the persons behind Madison.
So, Ger, please tell me, since you seem to have such a clear preference, what makes this release so much better than the Madison release? Is the soundquality better, do they have a better tape source, a hot 100-page booklet, some special bonustracks, what is it? C'mon, be a good sport and share some of your inside knowledge with the rest of us mere mortals.

... nice try, legend. But I dont think my private thoughts on certain

things, are any of your bizniz.
