Which 4 suits did Elvis wear @ the 72' NY concerts ?

I know of these three, but not sure of the fouth ....

Anyone know for sure, as there has been some
conflicting reports...

First pic on the left is from MSG June 11, 1972 show, second is from June10, 1972 matinee and third one from Tuscon,AZ ( November 72 tour ).

Doc to come up with an correction, but what the hell.....
He can't be every where

definition of the word "fat" here it is :

"Fat is a slang term for obese or adipose"

Elvis was far from obese in any of those
photo's....including any that you may think
of durring this period....

I would suggest you get your eyes checked.....

concerts, in fact Elvis made a comment at the New York press
conference he had just come back from Hawaii where he got
a tan prior to coming to New York....

Where its not hard to see this, in any of
the photo's taken at any of these shows....

I think it's you who needs his eyes checked. When I agreed with the admin., I was obviously referring to the Tucson pic that you posted as if it was from the MSG show. And I said that Elvis appears too fat and pale for it being a MSG pic, where he was heavily tanned and slimmer than the April tour.

Yes..excepted the last one on the right is from Fort Worth of the same tour.

Since this was a special engagement you would
think he would have had four different suits ready
for this series of shows....

Has this ever been brought up before?

I mean is there another reason other
than just common sense, that it didn't

Last show shots are easy to tell because Elvis turned his belt buckle upside down.

He didn't had it upside down for the whole show.

On the 10th (es), he wore a white scarf with the suit, and on the 11th he wore a red scarf.

Now the question is....anyone know why Elvis

Just a guess, but I'd say that it's because he liked the suit.

I just wanted to add, the reason why I started this post
in the first place was because I wasn't sure myself
which suits he wore during these four shows in New York...

I was sure of three out of the four , but not the fourth and the
reason being was because in Stein Erik Skar's book
"Elvis The Concert Years 1969-1977, he wrote this:

If you notice he write's Elvis wore a "Portwhole Suit"
with a "Gold Cape" on the last afternoon and on the 3rd
to last show he write's its the same suit, but writes
the suit had a "Red Cape".

In Paul Lichter's book he writes this:

This time it's a completely different suit, my guess
he's talking about the same suit which was used on
the original Album cover of the evening show released
in 72' with Gold Linning.....

Now the thing is I even know Elvis didn't wear that suit
during any of these shows....

the cover of the album was made for the standing room only album.


When the decisson was made to release an msg show insteed of standing room only. The wanted to release the album very fast. And thex could only do that with a cover and so on.
So, they took the cover from standing room only. The reason why it was released so fast, was a marketing coup. When fans read reports about the show in certain magazins, at the same time they could also listen to the show. The msg album was released one week after the actual show.

I'm using Leroy's lists, and as you probably already know, Leroy knows a thing or two about Elvis' wardrobe.
