I really love Orion´s version of Queen´s "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" from the same album as "Rockabilly Rebel". Maybe it´s the dream of many of us, that Elvis could have made it into the early eighties. Orion dealed with this dream and boy, he sold many records in the 80´s and 90´s to Elvis fans. Becoming an Elvis fan in the eighties means that Orion has been something very special to you. I know some straight Elvis fans that would bet their whole collection that it is Elvis on the Jerry Lee Lewis "Duets" album. In reality its Orion, - again...
This thread isn't very active anymore, but I wanted to tell you guys that I am actually the person who created this mp3.
I had downloaded a few Jimmy Ellis/Orion tracks and really liked the way he did "If" and wished Elvis had tried it himself. Somewhere I have an Elvis concert where he is introducing Voice or Neilson performing "Aubrey" which Elvis says was "by a group called Bread...." which is who originally sang "If".
So for my own amusement I badly spliced the comments as an intro. And then the Orion song had no proper ending. I did an absolutely horrible job of trying to graft the ending from a bootleg version of First Time Ever I Saw Your Face onto it.
The whole thing came out so bad, I forgot about it. I don't remember ever uploading it anywhere though. I am surprised anyone would not be able to tell it is NOT Elvis.
Sorry if I fooled anyone or seemed like I was trying to fool anyone. It was done out of boredom. I do the same thing with photos of Elvis sometimes--I try to create a fake modern-looking picture. Again, not to fool anyone, just to do it.
I still wish I could have made the Elvis intro and the ending all seem more seamless. Sorry if anyone was fooled.
