See Greg, you can't really say that I haven't pegged it correctly...especially when the KING shows up.

XXXXXXXXXXXXX

Carolyn,

Thank you for giving me a thought out response. Guess what, the one major thing that Viva(other then studio and star) shared in common with Girl Happy. *gasp* the dance choreographer!!

This certainly does go a long way with explaining the obvious similarities.

It reminds me of the same feel as an Olivia Newton John Special(with Abba and Andy Gibb) where Steve Binder produced it. Same stupid skits, same unplugged section....except not nearly as effective.

On a side note, did anyone seriously think that the rediculous "Clam" dance would take off.

I had known for a while that Ed Wood's ex wife wrote Do the Clam. First place I went to find the song....duh Clambake. Was I wrong.

If she was indeed trying to mimick Ann Margret (I don't think she was), you can bet that it was not her idea. The story just called for her to act in such a manner, or the instructions came from Boris Sagal (the director).

Waiting for the dvd Release

#238017

Post by jekhb76 »

It's a shame that this movie isn't released yet on dvd, along with 6 others.
Well maybe 2006-2007 will be a good reason to release the remaing movies on dvd.
We'll have to wait and see what the Wheel of Fortune holds for us.
In the meantime keeo your fingers crosed.

BTW, gen started a perfectly decent thread and some of you are picking on him. Not too many did this, but he didn't start the rudeness! I read this carefully. Why don't we allow him his opinions?? I understand that sometimes on off topic, he gets a little heated in his political views, but that has nothing to do with this thread. I don't think it does.........

Read some of his "insights" and observe his generally rude persona in the off-topic section (that which has not been deleted) and then get back to us, Silver.

Not only do you not know how to read my posts, you can't even read hers! She mentioned the off topic section.

It was very good Sue.... Almost 3 years without vacations, and I could rest a little bit... It was only "20 days and 20 nights" of vacation!

Well I admit that the similarities are hard to describe.

What is even more difficult is doing this with an audience that is in awe of the subject at hand(literally  ) to begin with!

All I can say is watch the two movies back to back to see what I am speaking of.

Hope this movie makes it too dvd someday!

I had a very sad story about Girl Happy-one of my best friends (a girl who loved Elvis) comitted suicide being very depressed. But before she died she told me she found in Girl Happy soundtrack the last joy in her life, listening to it over and over. It was a present for me to her, because she loved so much the movie and in that time in my country was very difficult to have Elvis Presley albums and saw his movies, too-only a couple of them were in the cinema.
