She offered herself to him! At that time she was arguably the worlds most beautiful woman. And french. Heck I'm getting a woody just thinkin' about it!
Damn!

today it s more catherine doccasion than catherine deneuve ( french pun )

Tits -
Something tells me David Furnish had that same reaction to Elton on their wedding night.
"Wedding night"? My big hairy arse! What a crock of shite. Any excuse for two uphill gardenening fudge packers to have a party and show off their shiteness to the world. Pathetic shits.
1) Above and beyond everything else I critizise him for being too hard-headed and proud to do something about his addiction.
2) Not being more of a grown-up than to let the colonel co-direct his career down the drain, but let's face it, he always chose the path of least resistance.
3) This could be incorporated in 2), but he could have rebelled a little more when he realized that his film-career wasn't going anywhere. Not just by the fact that the movies were sh*t, but by the fact that his acting abilities in my opinion merely equalled the quality of the scripts he was given.
4) For not even bothering to either check the sonic quality of the material released in the mid-70's (Yes, I know that he was furious when he heard the Today-recordings, but there is no way that he could have heard the piss-poor sound of the Promised Land LP) or not even bothering to get
a hold of the right and/or complete lyrics to many of the songs he recorded.
5) That he embarrassed both himself and his crowd with his so-called "karate-katas", and I'm referring to post 1972. I've seen him go at it in more than a few super-8 clips from Aug -74, and it's painfully clear that if a real fight ever were to go down, the biggest danger he would ever face would come from himself. Boasting his eighth-degree black-belt he bought his way up to. Like Bruce Thomas said in his biography on Bruce Lee: "Priscilla could kick Elvis' ass anytime".
Elvis,
IN THE SEASON THAT YOU LOVED THE MOST, please don't read these posts!! You gave millions joy and happiness!! You still do!!!! You did the best you could with the life given to you. Many of us love you, faults and all!! Some of us think that you wouldn't be you without the things that some are criticizing! Yes, you went too soon, but you will always be remembered with great affection!!!!
With Love, sue
You'll never, never know the one who loves you so. . .
R.I.P. 2-10-2006 In Memory Of A True Friend To All
Maybe this thread points us to the reason why he was depressed and left us so early.
Too many people wanting him to be what they wanted him to be and not loving him for who he was. In the end he subconciously wanted to die and I hope he is at peace now.

2) He should never have recorded crap songs he couldn't sing - like 'The Impossible Dream' and 'Padre'.
3) He should never have sold out and taken up residency in Las Vegas.
4) He should never have worn a jumpsuit.
5) He should never have left Sun Records.
6) He should never have made a movie after 'King Creole'.
What happened to 7?
7) There it is.
9) He should never have dressed as a woman in 'Girl Happy'.
10) He should never have recorded 'Tennessee Saturday Night'.
Crap song "The impossible dream" ???? He couldn't sing ??? Are you sick or something, not feeling well ???

Sometimes I think I´m the only person that likes Padre. I simply enjoy the song.

I love the walk of life of our guy with all ups and downs. I hate that he died at 42 but it also adds to his legend. So no critic here and marry X-mas babies
Tits McGhee wrote:So, we live in denial, do we Ton?
No, not in denial. It's just funny when you say that Elvis couldn't hit the notes in the two songs you mentioned. I agree a little on the fact that Padre is not a very great song, but "The Impossible Dream" is a great song.
