Elvis performed this song on:

April 30. Atlanta
July 18. Cleveland
July 22./23. Asheville
Thanks for the web link Ciscoking.

It looks as if the performance (of "It's Now or Never") from Atlanta will be on the CD.

I was discussing this release with another Elvis friend and i argued that given 2 'soundboard' performances of the song 'That's allright' say a choice between Jacksonville 25.4.75 or Huntsville 30.5.75 that i'm(Guessing) Ernst might well be tempted to use the Huntsville performance because the soundboards early in that April/May 75 tour are poor and feature heavy piano/string sound, where as the 'soundboards' during May/June tour are much, MUCH better albeit often 'incomplete', therefore i'm(hoping) where possible the choice would be May/June performances of songs, rather than the same song from April/May 75? anyone also thinking along these lines-as this could be one of the best ever FTD's yet! 8)

I really like the concept of this release! It's a great idea to combine the highlights of specific tours on one CD.

I become more and more tired of the CC Rider etc. opening ceremony and although the June'75 shows are all top notch, I prefer listening to the highlights on one disc alone.

Sad that FTD will stop releasing studio-compilations!

I would love to see another 50s compilation just like FLASHBACK,
would love to see another set like "Long Lonely Highway",
would love to hear an "Memphis Sessions, Vol. 2"
would love to hear NASHVILLE'71, and of course STAX'73

i was playing this weekend tracks from the forthcoming 75 spring tours, where their are several possible dates and with the given running times trying to pin down versions of songs. these things i now can confirm:-
bridge over troubled water comes from the mobile 2.6.75 e/s version
i'll remember you from mobile 2.6.75 a/s and steamroller blues is becoming quite a difficult problem to sort out! both versions i have listened to run about only 2:40 and yet time given is 3:28!! therefore it must be a version i'm not even aware of as how else could such a lengthy runny time be accounted for?? anyhow this all is building up to a mighty excellent/interesting release!!

well good news is i can now also confirm that 'That's Allright' must be the 30.5.75 version, but Steamroller Blues is STILL a mystery-why even in Atlanta 2.5.75 it only runs for 3:10! i cannot say whether (or not?) it was performed in Jackson on 5.5.75., but maybe that's where it comes from....as the running time(with other songs performed immediatly before or after) eliminate it as coming from versions i already knew! maybe the version on spring tours has a LOT of dialogue before it?? cannot work out any other reason, anyhow mystery will be solved once we get the Cities to match the track running times!

Well, Jambalaya should be from Lake Charles e/s, so maybe that´s where Steamroller Blues is picked from, too? I hope we get recordings from several shows, not just two or three. I´d really like to hear the Atlanta shows, seems like he always put on great performances there.

well unfortunately at that lake charles show Steamroller only runs for 2:40 and DIRECTLY after and before are other completely different songs! so where the hell does this 3:28 running time come from?? it's REALLY puzzling me!

I was thinking of a possibility that Elvis is talking to the audience before or after the song and this is included in the track?? So with this you add the song + "talking".

Just a thought.

 EXACTLY right Renan!.. like for example That's Allright fits perfectly in with this concept from Huntsville 30th May 75', but NOT with 'Steamroller' from either 2nd,3rd or 4th May..therefore my 'logic' points to maybe a previously 'unknown' version from 5.5.75?(as presumably the Cleveland 10.7.75 version is no longer a 'Spring Tour!'?) for 100% sure it's the ONLY track that has me puzzled because of that running time stated! :?

I´d welcome a box set with the 5 Huntsville shows on FTD. That would have been a top notch release IMO.
A good suggestion. In general, FTD should start considering releasing a boxset of some sort. Other collector's labels do it and Ernst stated at some point in an interview during the past couple of years that there will most likely be a boxset of material on FTD at some point. Because of the wealth of concert material BMG has in the vaults, it would make sense to put together a comprehensive look at a series of shows.
An FTD box set! Great idea :!:

Here's something that would be a little cheaper than a box set.

I think it's worth noting that nobody - that's right, not a single soul - has complained about this release yet! This has got to be the first time ever an FTD release is met with nothing but enthusiasm and anticipation!

That's true. But usually the moaning starts at least three months before the CD is released and that certainly isn't the case this time! I just think it's a nice surprise.

The only thing that will cause some complaints is probably the sound quality being "there are several flaws on the original source tapes"...

latest(excellent issue) of The Man and His Music CLEARLY states 2 very important facts:-
1. ALL tracks come from soundboards recorded between April and June 1975
2.Jambalaya is the 'known' version from Lake Charles 4.5.75.- so it isn't the version from 9th June!! :o

Heartbreak Hotel was sung at the 4/26/75 Tampa matinee. If this is the one on the forthcoming cd, it is a very good one with a slow, bluesy feel. About the same as '69. Elvis also sang That's All Right, It's Midnight, Burning Love, and My Boy. All were spot on. The only song messed up was T-R-O-U-B-L-E, but it is still half decent.

Both shows in Tampa should be great according to the audience recordings I´ve heard, so I sincerely hope we get one or two tracks from these two shows on the next FTD release. :)
