In a fantasy world maybe. His choice of woman did not decide the length of his life. No woman is that good or has that much influence and power. And don't forget that Elvis did not want any of his women to have a career or life of her own. That rules Ann out.

Your comments derive from a world of fantasy -- and jealousy.

For example, in 1963-64 Elvis tried very hard to get Parker to take over management of Ann-Margret's career.

The bond with Ann was unique, and lasted until Elvis' death.

Greg,

Is it possible to post that link again. It sounds like it would be very worthwhile seeing it and I imagine there were many on this board (including myself) that missed it.

Jealousy? That does not even make sense.

Elvis got over Ann like he did the other women in his life. Elvis appeared to have a special span of time with women and after that he got bored. And friends have said that he did not want his women to have a career. They would know. And the pattern proves it.

Though their love was very strong, I don't think their relationship would have lasted. Both were addicts, Elvis to prescribed drugs and A.M. to the effects of methanol. If A.M. had stayed with Elvis, if and how would Elvis have taken responsibility to support her through some very though times. Would he be capable to do it ? I am sure he would think he could, but the sad evidence is that he never took responsibility for his own life.

Though your question is valid, my opinion is that she would have been too weak to survive and would have died early 70's.

Elvis got bored with Ann....?

- Elvis and A.M. kept on meeting eachother during the 70's
- Elvis sneeked into her dressingroom early 70's , dropped to one knee to 'express his feelings'
- Elvis sent A.M. a flower bouquet at every Opening Night from 1967 (Riviera Hotel) till 1976.
- Ann was so surprised not to have received flowers from Elvis at her Opening Night at LV Hilton (Aug 15th '77) that she immediately felt something was seriously wrong. She was right...that strong was their bond.
- Of all actress / actors he worked with, I think A.M was the only one attending his funeral.
- Even after Elvis passed away, Vernon kept on asking for Ann. He simply adored her, they both laughed and cried together ...shortly before Vernon passed away...
- etc, etc

Elvis never got bored with A.M., they were soulmates and great friends for over 14 years - until his death.

Maybe if they truly loved each other and were together they would have not needed artificial substances.

Funny how this thread about David Bendeth and remixing has morphed into being about Elvis' love life.

I think its great, music is just about three things.... F$%%%ing , fighting and Dancing, thats my observation. It all comes back to feelings and thats what moves us inside.

Thank you, Greg. Quite an interesting look at E1 and how it came together.
Pretty cool seeing the original masters... if only we could touch them too.

Colin,
It's not your Woolworth's nor mine. We better find out where David's is located!

Well, I still can't get those cute little guys from my View more Emoticons list!! Where are they? Why can everyone else use them and not me????? It is definitely unfair!!

Rob,
I found them!!! Finally!!! I don't need :smt100 anymore!! They were hiding behind my screen. When I minimized this screen, I found them!! Then I found that they were also in my system icon tray, too.

I have a question, guys:

I bought the DVD audio of E1 because I was curious about the uncompressed Bendeth-mixes.

I listened to it yesterday using my DVD player which is connected to a standard stereo-amplifier.

Do I listen the whole mix this way (stereo downmix) or not?

I ask because my DVD player starts playing the disc automatically but all the tracks sound pretty strange, especially Way Down. The overdubs are hardly audible. "The Wonder Of You" is extremely low ... I wonder whether this is the mix by Bendeth or whether I have not the right euqipment.

They didn't do a menu on the disc. That makes things a bit difficult.
You are listening to the 5.1 tracks I'd say and you need different equiptment for that.
And I'm not sure if the stereo tracks will play on your set up either.
I think a normal DVD player will only play the Dolby tracks. You need DVD Audio player to get the stereo tracks I think.

I'm not certain but that's what I think.
