He didn't say it was on this thread but "here" meaning on the mb
of FECC. Use the search function. Not sure where that is...

These things are largely a matter of production schedules and for the U.K. being able to release a different track configuration probably meant a delay in the production that did not afford them to be able to use the DSD masters prepared for the U.S. release. I don't believe this has anything to do with Ernst, happens all the time in the music industry (how many versions of the new Paul McCartney album are out there)?

Production schedules are no excuse whatsoever.

How long does it take to forward the "new" digital mix from the USA to Holland :?:

Mere seconds.

How long has the Euro version appeared after the USA version?

Mere weeks.

Saying this has nothing to do with Ernst is most unlikely - who prepared the Euro release? Bugs Bunny?

When you get to the point where you really understand your computer, it's probably obsolete

Well, who can explain to me the difference between the regular UK-Hitstory release and the DeLuxe package of the UK-Hitstory!?

I found the statement finally on the german board: a member claimed to have conatcted Jorgensens via mail, Jorgensen said he wasn't sure, but he should ask BMG UK - and they (BMG UK) answered him that the DeLuxe package will contain the DSD masters only!

I've said from the start to stay away from this. Some of you are learning the hard way. Keep buying the same old compilations and it will give them a good reason to release the same thing in a different format next year.

I'd rather support the FTD's and imports anyday than most of these BMG releases.

Well, after one night of sleeping, I'm back in my cache finally

The 3rd disc ist great! Suspicion sounds fantastic! Mystery Train is the ELVIS AT SUN-version ... Frankie And Johnny never sounded better and Kissin' Cousins haven't sound worse for a long time now :D

But those gems still doesn't help the fact that the UK version includes not the new DSD version fo E1 and 2nd to none

I've finally got the U.S. version of Hitstory and here is my verdict:

The first disc IS an improvement. A Fool Such As I, A Big Hunk O'Love and The Wonder of You are corrected. There is no pop on Hound Dog and The flanging on Suspicious Minds is gone.

The rest of the tracks sound identical to the Elv1s disc to me, so I don't think it was done from scratch. Mr. Bendeth's mixes are used.

The second disc and the old Second To None disc sound identical to me.

So, the very interesting question is: which mixes are used on these discs? The Vic Anesini mixes or the David Bendeth mixes?

Yesterday I compared ALWAYS ON MY MIND on Elvis By The Presleys and 2nt To None - and I guess: if they used the Ray Bardini mix on the EBTP CD, they didn't compress it so much as they did on 2nd to none, did they!?

If so, it would be very interesting to here the Bendeth mixes of which he is talking about all the time here .....

Vic Anesini did not mix the Elvis release/s, he was credited for being a Mastering engineer.

Again, The David Bendeth mixes are used for the 1st Disc and the 2nd disc on the "Hitstory" set is identical, altho a bit more bright in some spots, to Second To None.

According to the credits, the 3rd disc is MASTERED by Vic Anesini.

I admit, I'm part of the problem and have an inability to say no.

I'm a cheap date though

I guess it's not the worse set, but the whole thing ticks me off.

Not as much as "Love, Elvis."

It is just another way to buy E1 /E2, both of which I mostly liked.

I kno this thread is quite old, but I recently talked to a friend of mine employed by QVC, a home shopping network here in America, and she told me that the Elvis package, HITSTORY sold an impressive 20,000 copies at the station just over the 2 days back in August for the 30th anniversary special.
