That's what makes it fun to be an Elvis fan. I'm glad we all like different things. So we shouldn't criticize those who like something different than you.

Afterall, it's not their fault that they are tone deaf and like Padre.

song of the shrimp is so sadisticly funny, that it's hysterical. it's the let's make you care about your food song and making you feel sorry for the poor little shrimpies. roflmao. it has to get the award for being absolutely the saddest animal song ever after old shep (WHICH I LOVE, because it really is a classic song--which admittedly song of the shrimp is not). song of the shrimp is like watching bambi.

i double over in laughter until my eyes water whenever the verse about the baby shrimp telling the mama shrimp he's going for a trip to louisiane.

and i like old mcdonald way more than dominic. old mcdonald--especially with the scene is hilarious to me. ok, so i have no problems against children's songs...and let's face it--it's without a doubt the best version ever recorded. sure beats "wee can sing".

i hate the impossible dream. gag me with a spoon. i always push next on my cd player. it has to do with it bringing up really bad memories of the song from rehab. i tried to plug my ears then, and not even elvis could save it (and that is rare).

not fond of it's impossible either, for that matter.

any song featuring the whiny voice of shelly fabares is grinding and unlistenable. god, why! why! did they ever allow her to sing on an elvis track???!!!

BEYOND THE BEND (Very spry and fun song. I like it. What a voice!

SWEET CAROLINE (Yes, a little played out and much more Neil Diamond's song,but nice for the time. Given how in shape he was at
the time, it's hard to put down nearly any TWWII material. But how
about Sweet Angeline?

FOOLS RUSH IN I agree on this. He sounds really tired. This could have been a good song for him. Hearing Brook Benton's version convinces me of that.

I CAN HELP I think this a very nice late-period rocker for Elvis, even if it's too much Billy Swan's song due to its hit status. We should
be glad we have it.

FOR THE HEART Another bright spot from Graceland sessions, but I agree he's not totally with it. Still, I like it! The alternates, too...

FOOL I've come around on this song but I do know Jules means. It's kind of depressing as is I'm Leavin' although LTB has brought me around on that one. The ratio of happy to sad songs was out of whack in the early '70s -but that's how our hero felt...

Padre A bit of a train wreck, and I try not to listen to it much, but it has some moments. Not his best.
