I have to say "Elvis Country". There's a whole bunch of emotional stuff tied up in that.
My Dad bought it almost the day it was released, he wore out 4 vinyl copies over the years, I've still got the last copy he bought in about 1980 and the CD that replaced that.
The cover was a nice concept, and the "I'm 10,000 Years Old" strapline.
I'm not sure if it really counts a "concept" album, but I like the cover, and it remains a favourite.
Geoff
And my younger sister asking with all the innocence of an eight year old "So how old is Elvis really?"

I'm not 100% sure which one fits the bill, Ger.

Anybody who can put the following "Oldies " on this thread : Shock, Rattle n Roll [ pink& black] , Black Star [SGT Bilko ] , The Jailhouse Rock Sessions [ Laurel Records ] and The Million Dollar Quartet , red cover and handcolorized insert photo on frontcover ? Brings back a lot of sweet memories for this old geezer...

Shock is THE Real Thing for sure! That ugly MDQ is NOT ! The one I have in mind features a tape box on the backcover , and the month January is misspelled Januari... Its an American "import " , The First ever to release that stuff. By the way can any of you out there tell the ol Dutchman what 50s RCA release inspired the SHOCK cover? Can we have this one larger, Gregory?

Thanks, Kemp! Those are beauts! I was going to post all the other covers y'all mentioned,
but for time reasons, you're on your own. A bunch of you might find
Ernie's import LP section in the "ELVIS SQUAD" section of FECC to be fun.
Even in the CD age, it's enough to make one want to have some of the
original LP boots!
By the way, I've noticed that quite a few RCA CD covers are different versus the original
Lps -and not for just their puny size!

Further to my previous post, I forgot to mention that the sleeve photo has nothing to do with the contents of the album !
So right from the start they established this rule !
But this time it didn't matter; the sleeve caught exactly the public perception of this new, exciting young singer.
"Look out !
I'm here, so be ready to rock !
Things will never be the same again !"

I never thought about that Rob.. It´s interesting...Rob wrote:Good question.
Like I mentioned before, none of the original live album covers featured a picture from the actual show on the album.
Does someone know the date of the Moody Blue cover art ?? I don´t know who asked but I also would like to know...
How many stars are in the sky ???? I´LL NEVER KNOW!
