Classic Album dvd

Tue Jul 12, 2005 5:38 pm

I was going to buy the Elvis edition of the Classic Album dvd series last night, but decided to get some feedback first. Is this worth having?

Pete,

Go get it,it's an excellent documentary.

I doubt you'll be disappointed.

It´s definately worth having! I bought it a couple of years ago and enjoyed it very much. The picture and sound quality is great and the various comments from Ernst and other musicians throughout the playingtime makes it very interesting. It belongs in any Elvisfan´s collection IMO. Go buy it, you won´t regret it!

Together with Elvis 56 THE BEST documentary EVER!

After reading those reviews I've just gone and bought it too...

It is worth the money you spend it...

If I was British I would say it's bloody marvelous but since I'm not I just say it's great.

Where can I purchase this dvd? Thanks in advance.

Joe, how about Amazon.

Here you go:

Pete -

It is a great documentary.

But the title is misleading.

They cover songs that were never on the album !

More an in-depth look at the early years of Elvis.

Ernst is seen & heard talking about the Elvis recordings.

And there is an interesting insight into how Steve Sholes suffered while awaiting that first chart breakthrough !

Get it !

Thanks, John.

This is why I'm proud not to be British.

Ok, I've got it! Stopped at Wal-Mart on the way back in to the office from my inspections. Even got it for a little cheaper price than in the store I was in last night. Lookin' forward to seeing it. Thanks for all the comments (except for WoodleyJohn's 'thankfully I'm not an American').

Tue Jul 12, 2005 10:48 pm

"Wal-Mart" - there's America for ya!

I liked all the comments, no "offense" taken from this American.

That DVD's been on my shopping list for some time!

Oddly, I have the one that features Jimi Hendrix "Electric Ladyland" already but not the ELVIS PRESLEY one!

Don't kick me out of the guild!

Greg -

Now stand in the corner and repeat 1,000 times:

"I really must give Elvis titles precedence when buying DVD's !"

Tue Jul 12, 2005 10:55 pm

Well, in my "defence," it was used but like new at about five dollars.

The "Elvis Presley" one was no where to be found.

But you're right: I've been bad.

That's only if he's a cultured Brit GG. If he's a cockney, then it doesn't really matter what he says. We'll never understand him no how!

Cor blimey, give it a rest, guvner !

'E's a great geezer, this Elvis, ain' 'e ?

Know wot I mean ?

Leave it out !

This DVD really is fantastic. I didn't know what to expect when I bought my copy, but it was well worth it. In fact, it's probably time to revisit it, which I shall do tonight.

I second that. Classic Albums is absolutely great and essential. Great main feature, great bonus section.

This is a little off-topic but does anybody here have another title of the same "Classic Albums"-series?

This dvd was excellent, I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was good to be able to finally see and hear Chick Crumpacker. And Ernst sure knows his stuff! Thanks for the recommendations folks!

I recommend you go out and buy it immediately Pete !!!!!

Oh, oops you already got it. Oh well glad I could help!!!

Hi Greg, No "offence", but Americans never could spell the Queen's English.

None taken, but I think most of those changes occurred in the 19th century under Daniel Webster - on purpose! Breaking way from royalty was no small part of it. :D

And like I said above, See See Rider, I have the "Electric Ladyland" part of the series.

Actually a wise move bearing in mind the dopey lot we have ensconced in the various palaces around the UK. Still, rather them than George Dubya.

If that's the case then vote in Prince Charles as Prime Minister. Then we'll talk!
