Whereas your own singing... nah.

Uncalled for. Especially if you haven't heard me.

If only.

Keggyhander wrote:I'm the first to admit that my vibrato is my weakest area. I'd love to have Elvis' vibrato.

I'd love for you to have Elvis' vibrato. Seriously. Then my ears might be willing to forgive me.

Oh -- you certainly are, alright, as this recording attests:

Vibrato is the least of your issues.

Pot. Kettle.

I'm thirsty.

What are you talking about?

Are you trying to "blind us with science" after deafening us with noise?

Sun Mar 26, 2006 11:16 pm

LOL. That isn't me.

He is a friend of mine though.

Get your facts right next time.

Sun Mar 26, 2006 11:21 pm

Then I surely do have my wires crossed.

What do you sound like, keggy?

You never know: I might even like ya.

(Serious note: there are a couple of ETAs that I genuinely like and admire).

Cryogenic,

I've pm'd you a link to some sound clips of mine.

Thanks, Keggy.

You sing more naturally than your friend.

I'll leave it at that.

A Red Indian chum of mine tells me that 'Keggyhander' actually means He Who Has No Life And Tries To Sing Like Other Man Because He Has No Originality Himself And Sounds Like Constipated Goat.

Mind you, I think that's only a very rough translation.

Mon Mar 27, 2006 12:26 am

I don't need no Red indian to tell me that Tit means Tit.

Mon Mar 27, 2006 12:28 am

Copy Cat, Copy Cat, you are a Copy Cat.

Is everything you do a copy of someone else?

Mon Mar 27, 2006 12:30 am

If you like I'll do a copy of Chuck Norris on your face?

Originally recorded by UK rockabilly band Matchbox in the late 70's, this was covered by Jimmy 'Orion' Ellis for his album of the same name, which is most likely the version you heard! :)

Mon Mar 27, 2006 12:37 am

Who surprisingly sang 'If'.

Mon Mar 27, 2006 12:38 am

You'll do a copy of Chuck Norris on my face? It would have to be a copy coming from you, wouldn't it.

Come on, I'll have you now. Outisde. Now. Come on, you jumpsuited weirdo. Come on.

What's the matter? No Red and Sonny to back you up?

I'll pull your deleted - see guidelines #2 tongue out by the roots. At least that'll be one way of stopping you infesting the world with your kackhanded version of knackerdom.

Thankyou. Thankyouverymuch.

Eeeeeeeeeee, what time is the turrrrn on?

Mon Mar 27, 2006 12:49 am

I don't do jumpsuits.

I ain't gonna retort to the rest of your bollocks. It's very much beneath me.

Mon Mar 27, 2006 12:57 am

I wish you were beneath me. Six friggin' feet beneath me.

Mon Mar 27, 2006 1:09 am

The winner gets $5

Well, it looks like Copy Cat Boy has buggered off (probably learning some TTWII moves in front of the mirror), so I'll take that five bucks, Mr. Ryan. Cheque, postal order or cash will do nicely.

Thank you for proving my point for me.

My God, man. Wishing someone was dead??!! You give Elvisfans a bad name. You are lower than a worm's cock.

Hey, Copy Cat Boy,

And there was me thinking we were only joshin'.

This will probably be my last post of the evening because I'm tired and I'm gonna hit the sack.

Tits,

You don't do "Joshin'", your posts are filled with hate and spite.

You persist in repetitive posts about "copycats". You didn't like my copycat retort. I don't give out what I haven't already taken. I don't start arguments, but I'll defend myself and others against nasty, vitriolic outbursts.

So what if I please people with an Elvis act. If you're not seeing it what business is it of yours?

Nothing lower than an Elvis Impersonator? I guess all those murderers and child abusers will be pleased to hear they'll be getting released now that all the ETA's will be filling their cells.

I have every respect for the US and Aussie forces that served in vietnam but if every GI in nam was like you then there's no wonder Ho Chi Minh kicked you arses. I'm from England, and so you didn't fight anything for me.

I think you need to take a long hard look at the posts you've typed, and then join "Howlin' Mad" Murdoch in the Veterans Mental Hospital.

Good night and God bless.

Wayne

Night, night. Hope you're feeling better tomorrow.

Some people just can't have fun, can they? Take a chill pill, man.

I really love Orion´s version of Queen´s "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" from the same album as "Rockabilly Rebel". Maybe it´s the dream of many of us, that Elvis could have made it into the early eighties. Orion dealed with this dream and boy, he sold many records in the 80´s and 90´s to Elvis fans. Becoming an Elvis fan in the eighties means that Orion has been something very special to you. I know some straight Elvis fans that would bet their whole collection that it is Elvis on the Jerry Lee Lewis "Duets" album. In reality its Orion, - again...

That´s it!

No, I'm 99% certain this is actually presley. No-one else has THAT particular timbre to his voice!

I finally got around to downloading it and I am 99% certain you are clueless judging by the timbre of your post.
Sorry its not Elvis. It's Orion.

I did think that duet with Jerry Lee, "Save the last dance for me", was a real fun record though.

Re: Elvis' performance of "If" in concert

Thu Aug 07, 2014 3:37 am

This thread isn't very active anymore, but I wanted to tell you guys that I am actually the person who created this mp3.

I had downloaded a few Jimmy Ellis/Orion tracks and really liked the way he did "If" and wished Elvis had tried it himself. Somewhere I have an Elvis concert where he is introducing Voice or Neilson performing "Aubrey" which Elvis says was "by a group called Bread...." which is who originally sang "If".
So for my own amusement I badly spliced the comments as an intro. And then the Orion song had no proper ending. I did an absolutely horrible job of trying to graft the ending from a bootleg version of First Time Ever I Saw Your Face onto it.

The whole thing came out so bad, I forgot about it. I don't remember ever uploading it anywhere though. I am surprised anyone would not be able to tell it is NOT Elvis.
Sorry if I fooled anyone or seemed like I was trying to fool anyone. It was done out of boredom. I do the same thing with photos of Elvis sometimes--I try to create a fake modern-looking picture. Again, not to fool anyone, just to do it.

I still wish I could have made the Elvis intro and the ending all seem more seamless. Sorry if anyone was fooled.
