The other side of Madison Square Garden
Hello
Hereunder is my one euro review of MSG 72
just one thing, don' t read that too seriously
2001
Who knows is this strass version would stress Strauss ?
that s allright
Arthur Crudup ? a weird name ... exactly like Elvis Presley
Proud mary
Ronnie Tutt really needed his complete drums set for this song !
Never Been to spain
THE highlight in Elvis on tour (72)
You don't have to say you love me
did you know that 4 people were needed to create this 2 minute song !!
You're lost that lovin' feelin'
do you know what is a chinese cymbal ? if not, listen ronnie !
Polk salad Annie
J Burton was well inspired in 1972, one of burton' best years ...
Love me
The 50's version will always remain the best
all shook up
are you all shook up of his version ?
Heartbreak hotel
not his best interpretation, not his worst
(Let me be your) Teddy bear/ Don't be cruel
when i think that some of you sent teddy bears to graceland ...
Love me tender
It begins in D and then in D sharp, it gives the impression that the song was speeded up !
The impossible dream
hey ronnie, calm down !, it s a slow !
Introductions
was Elvis paid to mention the FENDER bass ?
Hound dog
wha wha guitar ... was JB inspired by j hendrix ?
suspicious minds
one of these songs that begins in 4/4 and ends in 12/8
for the good times
a Kristofferson song,
did you know that Kristofferson grabbed Cash's attention when he unexpectedly landed his helicopter in Cash's yard and gave him some tapes including "Sunday Morning Coming Down". ?
src = wiki
american trilogy
a little bit of elvis
a little bit of america
Funny how time slips away
not so funny that time goes by so fast ...
I can't stop loving you
listen the end, just the end !
Can't help falling in love
One more song that elvis speeded up but it was no slapdash work !
Many of us probably prefer the 70's than the 60's version
End theme
joe guercio composed the theme but was not credited !
$ad for him, very $ad
The concert was a complete success, but elvis never came back in MSG

I've all 4 of them...and would love to have a good book about it too. Ger???
Always Elvis on my mind
Re: The other side of Madison Square Garden
Leo Fender pioneered the electric bass guitar (although it was not his invention) so arguably the term "Fender Bass" could be used to refer to a type of instrument which is likely how Elvis was using the phrase. He was not signed to endorse Fender instruments.tcb4 wrote:so ... ?tcb4 wrote: Introductions

Re: The other side of Madison Square Garden
Stevie Ray Vaughan did the same thing when introducing bassist Tommy Shannon long before Vaughan was part of the Fender family.Matthew wrote:Leo Fender pioneered the electric bass guitar (although it was not his invention) so arguably the term "Fender Bass" could be used to refer to a type of instrument which is likely how Elvis was using the phrase. I don't quite 'get' the review.....?? Particularly the quote about "Ronnie needing his full drum set for "Proud Mary"???
"If the songs don't go over, we can do a medley of costumes!" - Elvis Presley (August 10, 1970 backstage in his dressing room before the first show of the August, 10, 1970/September 8, 1970 season in Vegas).
