probably Elvis' greatest album with only It Keeps Right On a Hurtin' as anything less than excellent.

I've missed the poll! What's going on? 
I would have gone for 'Wearin That Loved On Look'. The reason? Well, this was one of the later albums in my collection. The reason being when I got it (83/84 I think), it was extremely difficult to get hold of (deleted?). Anyway, when I finally got my hands on it I was familiar with Ghetto/Any Day Now and Gentle on My Mind ... the rest were all new to me. I had read the review of the tracks in Robert Matthew Walker's book prior to hearing them so my anticipation was fever pitch. When I eventually played it and the opening bars of WTLOL came out I was taken aback!! It was not only the quality of Elvis' delivery but also the quality of the material. I would have liked the album by anyone because the material was so strong (the Tillotson number being the weak link IMO). I could only imagine how the fans who got to hear it upon iits release felt after a dire decade. I still feel to this day that WTLOL was crying out for single release! After that, almost every track was a winner (sans Tillotson IMO ). It has lost none of its power to this day. Elvis' finest album? For me ... yes!

Not strictly true.
The attempts at Without You and the That's All Right session were separate occasions.
Yes, indeed, but information about June-July 1954 was a lot more scarce in the middle of 1969.

Even if it was almost impossible to choose a favourite on this splendid album, some of you managed to do it, and most of you choosed "Long black limousine".
