What is the best way to do this? I was wondering if there is a good cheap(free) program out there that i t is possible. I would like to convert the Virtual Graceland mov files to watchable on TV. Don't have a DVD burner, so this is my only option!

I have a program (or rather three) which converts DVDs to VCD...is this what you mean? Basically, the first program is called SmartRipper and this copies the DVD files to your hard drive as VOB files. The second is DVD2AVI, which does exactly what it says on the tin, and converts those vob files to avi. The final program is TMPEGEnc, which converts the avi to mpeg which can then be stored onto VCD using Nero or whatever. But I warn you, it's not quick. You've really got to want that movie to tie up your system resources for anything up to 10 hours, depending on your PC spec and what quality you want. If you send me your email I can post you the programs as they are not large - possibly 2MB tops in total.

If anyone is thinking about using the method used by Stephen , the link below is for a web site that has the full instructions for every step in the process and also contains links to all the required software. All the software is available free.

Regarding the original post, as for .mov
files it is something that I have never done myself but maybe the link here will get you started. Once you have avi files you will then have to convert them to mpeg compatable VCD files.
