And I will be posting regularly *here* "at home" very soon.

My health issues are complex (I am having an echocardiogram tomorrow morning), but I just wanted you to know that you guys are Always On My Mind. And that I really am okay. Image

Hope everyone is off to a great start to 2016!

And thanks to those who sent PM's that I just am seeing now.

We look forward to your always heartfelt and thoughtful commentary! Take care of that ticker!!

I never paid much attention to the 1961 song that graces this topic, until I heard some outtakes on this wonderful, late 1980s bootleg LP:

..

Elvis Presley Radio Recorders Revisited (Laurel Records 06184, June 1987)
SIDE ONE
01. King Of The Whole Wide World (Take 1)
02. King Of The Whole Wide World (Take 2)
03. King Of The Whole Wide World (Take 3)
04. Riding The Rainbow (Take 1)
05. I Got Lucky (Take 2)
06. I Got Lucky (Take 3)
07. I Got Lucky (Take 1)
08. Home Is Where The Heart Is (Take 6)
09. Home Is Where The Heart Is (Take 10)
10. This Is Living (Take 1)
11. This Is Living (Take 2)

SIDE TWO
01. Whistling Tune (Take1)
02. King Of The Whole Wild World (Take 17)
03. King Of The Whole Wild World (Take 29)
04. This Is Living (Take 7)
05. This Is Living (Take 8)
06. I Got Lucky (Take 1)
07. Home Is Where The Heart Is (Take 15)
08. Home Is Where The Heart Is (Take 20)
09. Riding The Rainbow (Take 2)
10. Riding The Rainbow (Take 8)
Since then, I have considered it one of Presley's more attractive and gentle ballads from the 1960s movie soundtrack era. If only the quality had never dropped below this Hal David and Sherman Edwards contribution, his cinema path would be considered differently today. David, of course, made some indelible recordings in the 1960s working with songwriter Burt Bacharach and singer Dionne Warwick.

All the best to you in 2016, rjm!

Thank you so much, Doc, for this reply post. I'm very moved. It really cheered me today, and it was a difficult day. (Technicians never tell you anything about what, if anything, they saw on the screen.) Thank you for your ongoing encouragement!

I have missed the forum so much this fall. I am looking forward to my regular posting soon.

At the moment, on top of everything else, I have a cold w/fever. I will be back in form ASAP.

And I want to especially thank Greystoke for his marvelous and heartfelt support.

Thank you, Linda. And Elton and George, and Bodie, and Lior! I hope I haven't missed anyone! Image

FECC has been there with me for five years now through thick and thin. Thank you with all my heart.

LOL!

Thanks. I would LOVE to go to Memphis with a bunch of FECC peeps. I always imagined renting a Riverboat and then watching the action unfold. ;)
