Retro singer Dominic Halpin saw his dreams come true when he got to record his debut album in Nashville - with Elvis Presley's drummer

Singer Dominic Halpin fulfilled a lifelong dream when he recorded his first original album in Nashville - with the backing of Elvis Presley’s drummer Ronnie Tutt.

Manchester-based Dominic made the approach to Ronnie after punters at a gig in Manchester’s Brewdog bar asked him what his dream album would be.

He says: “I said to them it would be to record in Nashville in a vintage style with Ronnie Tutt, Elvis’s drummer.

“I went home that night and thought what’s the harm in making a few enquiries to see if I could actually make it happen?

“Thanks to the power of the internet, the next thing you know Ronnie came back to me to say he loved a video I’d done and he’d love to record with me - the only problem being I’d have to fly to Nashville.

“It was too good to be true!”

But true it was, and off Dominic jetted to the States to record his album, 4,000 miles, so titled as that was the distant he flew to make the dream a reality.

Dominic, well known on the city’s social scene performing with his band The Honey B’s, held a special album launch at the Alderley Edge Hotel.

And you can next catch him in action at Rosso Restaurant in Manchester on May 1, and the Cinnamon Club in Bowdon on May 2.
