Re: Anyone seen or have these kind of Blank CDs

I've not seen them available for private use before, but these dual discs have been used commercially. This album is CD one side and DVD the other, and I'm sure there are more examples.

On evidence of the above, it literally appears to be two discs glued together on the label side, so as to present cd playing on one side and dvd playing on the other. Obviously it's more sophisticated than that, but it does indeed look like two discs (even with a ridge in the middle where the two look as if they come together).

These have been out for a while, but because of the lack of Red Book specs these discs have not been very popular, and according to their site they are rather expensive, only being sold in bulk of a 1000 at $2.95 a pop.

Because the DualDisc CD layer did not conform to Red Book specifications, Philips and Sony refused to allow DualDisc titles to carry the CD logo and most DualDiscs contain one of two warnings:
"This disc is intended to play on standard DVD and CD players.
May not play on certain car, slot load players and mega-disc changers."
