Agnetha Faltskog picks Elvis

Fri Jul 12, 2013 2:04 am

My first crush Agnetha Faltskog, from Abba featured on BBC Radio 2's 'The tracks of my years' all last week. On her last day she chose a somewhat unusual and surprising Elvis recording from 27th May, 1963. "Ask Me". Very European in flavor, taken from the Italian song "Io" and beautifully sung by Elvis. Good choice Agnetha!

A beautiful song, and like Julian Grant said...beautifully sung by Elvis.

One of my least favourite 60s Nashville Elvis tracks.

That roller-rink organ makes me scream!

That song's gonna make me a nervous wreck - so does Agnetha! :P

Thanks for posting.

Thanks for posting the Domenico Modugno original from 1958.
New to me first I heard it.
"Ask Me" by Elvis Presley is a beautifully done song, and anyone musically inclined should agree.

Which version do y'all prefer? I'd rather go with the January 12, 1964 recording (as it's the better one it was probably the reason why they re-made it... ).

It's a nice enough song - not one of my favorites, but who am I to argue with the lovely Agnetha?
