Most Elvis irritators wouldn't know a Sun single from a Sundial suit and are just attention seeking exhibitionists. The clip you have posted looks about as good as it gets - bearable.elvisarsenal wrote:That is Ben Portsmouth....the current world champion. Re: It get frightened what the impersonators do.
Doc....work out the sentence...it is correct
Eta's vary but, from the 50 or so I have seen, they all try to keep the flame going. That's good enough in my book
Watching hundreds of fans on an ETA weekend is great fun....elvis fans all enjoying each others company....I suggest you all try it.....porthcawl and Benidorm are the best

This is incorrect and incomplete:
more power to him and all the other great ETA's

Yep got me there Doc.....
As I said earlier I enjoy being with fans who all join in together, to remember and celebrate a great man, rather than those who only ever want to point score
Go and watch some ETA clips....be happy

Surely the Doc would prefer ANY ETA's vocal over Elvis' vocals from 1976 and 1977. Now there's something he could enjoy, as he barely finds anything from those years to enjoy.

Ben is a nice lad. He's quiet and shy off stage but he's a real Elvis fan and collector. We've chatted about outtakes, audience recordings and the like many a time. He's a music teacher and plays guitar and piano during shows and also does who segments where he does acoustic versions etc.
Nothing wrong with him. His act is very tasteful.

Re: It get frightened what the impersonators do.
Well said swingin-little-guitar-man......Ben cares passionately and always gives a great performance. If members went to one of his shows they might have an appreciation for what ETAs really do to keep Elvis's music alive
Re: It get frightened what the impersonators do.
Why waste time watching clips of a man with false sideburns and a white suit when you could spend the time watching the many wonderful clips of the real Elvis, or listening to Elvis cd's or even reading a good Elvis book?elvisarsenal wrote:Yep got me there Doc.....

How many of the people who attend Elvis irritator evenings are genuine ELVIS fans, ie, have a collection of cd's / records / DVD's / books etc? Many I've been to have included drunk people laughing and taking the p@ss out of the irritator on the stage.

Re: It get frightened what the impersonators do.
Respectful performers such as the gentleman posted in the videos above do not damage Elvis' legacy... Elvis tribute artists are certainly not my cup of tea but many fans do enjoy seeing them... and if they get enjoyment out of decent, respectful performances, I say why not... and Yoga Is As Yoga Does is my favorite Elvis song... so go pound salt!!!JoshMorgan wrote:ETA's do more damage to Elvis' legacy than "Yoga Is As Yoga Does".

I do have one question however... why don't ETA's pronounce consonance when they sing???
