Actually the songs sound pretty good, but the film...

jak, you always offer up interesting and enjoyable comments on FECC.

Thank you for this fascinating backstory. Please post more often, it's such a breath of fresh air.

For the curious, inspiration for this comes from a recent topic posted by HoneyTalkNelson:

From his query I was inspired to do research and share the neat stuff I found online. You will see the movie link and other information there as well.

Many thanks to him, and to all the good members of the #1 Elvis Presley forum in the world.

No problem, happy to see discussion continue.
The posters were 99c bargains, hardly the highlight of my collection but still nice to see Ginger looking fine (which is also the highlight of the movie).
A local video store recently sold the original video release and on both occasions got more than $25 so there is some interest in the film.
Some of Roy's songs in the film were featured on his album `Laminar Flow', not one of the highlights of his careeer though it did feature a lovely `Hound Dog Man' about Elvis.

I only managed to get about 10 minutes into it .. didn't get to see the best scenery unfortunately.

That belt is awful - goes around his stomach rather than hanging from his hips.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Eli has left the auditorium." Oh dear. I need a drink. :|

Interestingly some on this forum may well prefer this to EIC.

Food for thought.

First heard about this movie on the TV program 20/20 back in 79'.

Major "B"...... garbage movie.....but sort of cult classic now....

Never seen so may beards in my life for a movie of this time period.

Beards were in, obviously :D

Used to have a low grade copy of the movie on VHS, the wibbly-wobbly snow blizzard picture combined with the buzzing slurry sound added to the nausea of the film.Ginger Aldens other film is of similarly low standards. Her acting is wooden and she has the personality of a plank. No amount of remastering could make me watch Living Legend again not even if George Lucas added Jabba the Hut and put in some spaceships. That said I highly recommend it to those who don't rate Elvis films.

I've never seen so many beards in one movie. I'm sure the Blu-Ray disc will expose the crud hanging out of them beards.
