Just wondering if anyone knows more about Chroma Dot Recovery? Many old British TV shows from the early sixties were previously only available in black and white although originally filmed in colour and are now being restored with the colour re-applied. This is not the same as the computer colourisation process used on the Jailhouse Rock and Love Me Tender colour versions we’ve seen but is a more natural and less expensive way of doing things. This has been a fantastic discovery for restoring old TV shows such as early episodes of Dr. Who but from what I’ve been reading it seems to be only possible with the UK’s PAL television system as I've seen no mention of the NTSC system used in the USA. It doesn’t seem suitable or possible for the early Elvis TV shows as (from what I understand) a copy of the original B&W videotape containing a recording of the colour broadcast would be needed. Makes you think though that there may be a possibility of seeing further advances in the near future. We may yet see some of those early Elvis TV appearances in colour. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InlwGp3VYNEhttp://www.insell.co.uk/colourisation/R ... on_0-2.htmhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chroma_dotshttp://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/show ... hp?t=35031
