Oh Nice, I like my song, Thanks Rob

I saw Elvis live in concert the year before he died. Even then, he was bigger than life, and had amazing charisma. Haven't seen anything like it since, ....until Adam.........Nocturnal 2010

A related, and amusing story - hope you don't mind...

My wife isn't an Elvis fan at all, and only occasionally tolerates having some Elvis on the TV, or on in the car. Although she thinks he was good looking, and talented, she just doesn't much care for the music.

Anyway, we had an agreement that when our son was born, we'd buy whatever was number 1 that week, and keep it for when he was older, along with a copy of that days newspaper. Lo and behold, in what I take to be a sign from above, what was number 1 when Josh was born on July 3rd 2002? Elvis / JXL, with A Little Less Conversation!!! Who would have predicted that?

My wife was suitably amused, and we do have the single in the collection, for our son when he's older.

One of life's sweet victories...

A dangerous arrangement.

What if it had been by someone you can't stomach ?

Colin,

You're right - it could have turned out to be anyone. Back before the Xmas, I'd have laughed at you if you told me there was any chance at all of Elvis being number 1, but there you go.

When my daughter was born in August last year it was Shakira, but my wife wouldn't let me buy the DVD instead of the single. Spoilsport.

The Billboard chart has now turned into a joke.

How can you place a song in the charts by 'Airplay'??

Not quite.

There wasn't a Uk chart.

But in the US the No.1 was I Got A Gal In Kalamazoo by Glen Miller !

The U.S number One when I was born was Telstar by The Tornados,

& the British number One was Return To Sender by a certain

gentleman from Memphis. Also while some People my not like the

single forty years later ALLC was the British number One when my

youngest daughter was born, which in my book at least was an added

bonus & means it gets played from time to time because she wants to

hear her record.
