Back in 89' Chris Isaak's released a song
called "Wicked Game"
It became a instant classic.....
An like most classic's one would think it couldn't
get any better than this.....
But it did, when the band HIM took on the song
in 96'....
Now, better isn't really the word to use...maybe
just different, an different it was, HIM brought
new life to the song....which really blew me away...
Anyway, if any of you are fans of either Isaak
or HIM....an you didn't know or care that this song
had been done by either....you might now
Here's your chance to listen and watch a Great song
getting the best of both worlds....
By the way I first heard HIM do the song only
a few years ago, as I was not even aware of the
bands existance, until I had seen a import DVD of
Billy Idol in concert which had HIM as the opening
act for Idol for a concert video taped in Germany a
few years ago.....
I would be curious as to what some of you think
about these versions?
As it does amaze me, when a Artist can
take a song especially a classic
and make it their own....
Especially so soon after an original release
than had been so succcesful for another artist...
Elvis of course did it more than a few times in his
career to many songs made popular by other
artist's....

Yes, better really isn't the word to use It's ok, but to me sounds like exactly what a band would do if turning Wicked Game into a rock song. Nothing particularly imaginative. The original was and is brilliant for the superb arrangement and Chris' haunting vocal.PEP wrote:Now, better isn't really the word to use...maybe

I think HIM version is a fine performance. I'm not really a fan of the group even though they are from Helsinki. The lead singer is an Elvis fan and you can hear the Elvis influence in some of his vocals.
"I've learned very early in life, without a song, the day would never end. Without a song, a man ain't got a friend. Without a song, the road would never bend, without a song. So I'll keep on singing the song."
