Glenn Campbell
any fans out there..?
personally i like his voice a lot, gentle yet powerful when it needs to be (It's Only Make Believe etc.).
I dearly wish Elvis had cut a proper version of Don't It Make You Wanna Go Home - such a beautiful, beautiful song.

I've always liked Glen's music. Next to Elvis, one of my first memories (around age 3) is listening to and trying to sing with Glen's records. Remember the Good Time Hour? Awesome show!!!
Personal favorites...Gentle on my mind, By the time I get to Phoenix, Galveston, Country Boy, Wichita Lineman....so many to pick from. One hell of a talented guy. He was pretty good, too, in True Grit. That's one role I wish they'd considered for Elvis.

This is a 1969 Joe South track -- R&B singer Brook Benton hit #45 in the summer of 1970 with it. One or both of these is where Elvis likely heard it. South also wrote "Walk A Mile In My Shoes," another great song.I dearly wish Elvis had cut a proper version of Don't It Make You Wanna Go Home - such a beautiful, beautiful song.
