Check this out ...

Might be useful to map the politics of the board.

I'm -7.38 to the left and -4.10 to the libetarian end of the spectrum. Guess i'm your average socialist.

Thanks for the link, Andrew !

I was -7.63 to the left & -5.28 to the libertarian !

Hey, I'm more of a lefty liberal than you are !

Is it true GG tried this & was off the scale ?

Interesting test, Andrew. I'm close to where you are on the graph, as I came in at -5.25 to the left, and -2.26 to the libertarian. Kinda surprised me a little bit, actually. But hey, the numbers don't lie, I guess!

Thu Mar 02, 2006 9:32 pm

2.25 economic left, 3.59 libertarian for me

Thu Mar 02, 2006 9:41 pm

Economic Left/Right: + 0.63 Right
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: + 1.85 Authoritarian

Anyone surprised?

Hype! All hype!

In fact, I took it and ........

Economic Left/Right: -5.10
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.54

It had my dot in the Left, and same area as Ghandi ?!?!

but goooood. 8)
It will help rally the Left to my cause, like lambs to the slaughter,
as The Garden Party plans to take over da vorld!

Something wrong there.................

Economic left -3.75. Social libertarian -1.64. So I'm an ever-so-mild libertarian, but more left of center than I would've thought!

There is obviously something wrong with the way it is weighted or calibrated.

It is placing everyone further to the to the left than they are !

Even GG came out on the left !

Fri Mar 03, 2006 12:45 am

Is it just me, or are some of the questions worded in such a way that the results will probably skew left? I would have gone with a more reliable point system instead of relying on four simple choices for answers.

Fri Mar 03, 2006 1:07 am

I noticed right off the batt that the questions were a bit loaded.

Phew! I'm glad to hear that Colin. I just couldn't get used to thinking of GG as Graceland Ghandi.

Fri Mar 03, 2006 1:38 am

Hell, I come off as more conservative than GG!!!!!!!!! Somethin's gotta be wrong.

GG was more left than me on the economic side  Yeah, I think the questions are worded in a way that the results are skewed.

Fri Mar 03, 2006 4:02 am

Maybe I am Economically Left - so what?

I believe that the richest 10% should be taxed more than everyone else.
They got more they should pay more.

and Middle Class definition of income has raised so high, that most families today are technically Poverty level but 50 years ago (in a better America) those same families, and their jobs/occupations, were really Middle Class.

Fri Mar 03, 2006 11:51 am

Maybe there is a difference between being economically left and socially left? That might explain the interesting results.

The questions are slightly skewed - but i guess we are all doing the same questions so it's a valid test.

bwahaha. i think i out-conservatived everybody.

now, what happened to gg?

now, admittedly, i vehemently read between the lines of what the questions were asking to vote for what the questions were ACTUALLY asking without the liberal bias.
