If all the Elvis fans in the world were laid on top of each other, the pile would be high enough to reach the sun.

If all the Roger Whittaker fans were laid on top of each other........Sam would tell you to get the hell off his mum

Roger has a nice 'golden brown' voice which quite suited some songs.

He could whistle, too !

And he once had a top ten duet with Des O'Connor !

Apart from that.........................

Old Roger is one of those awful singers like George Hamilton IIII or whatever is name was, that always seemed to be on UK day time tv when i was a kid.

Whittaker always looked a scruffy bugger, with his tramps beard and comb over hair cut.

Give me Des O`Cronic any time.

And I think that was his last farewell!

Sadly not. As Colin mentioned, there was the duet with Des in the 80s. How that charted, I'll never know :)

It's Roger's album titles which are a laugh !

Considering he only charted 6 times, as a solo artist, between 1969 & 1975 [plus a duet in 1986]
an album with the title: Now & Then - Greatest Hits - 1964-2004 is quite hilarious !

Not to mention short !

Des O`Connor should be ashamed of himself for dueting with Whittaker.

To think this was the guy who recorded the mighty "A Dick-A-Dum-Dum"!

You all are in a big advantage, because most of you didn't know his german songs, or do you?

I for myself was forced to hear him sing - sitting on the sofa next to my grandma (which wasn't the hardest part of it) and watching him sing on German television at the age of five or six years.

He looked like a bearded hamster.
Schmaltz as schmaltz can be - terrible.
