If you look carefully at the first picture, it says AP Wirephoto, doesn't it? And in the second photo, KFRE is a Fresno, California TV station, I believe. You could look it up on the web, I guess. :smt043

The article got cut off.

The rest of it says:

Immediately following their debut on Sullivan's TV program,
millions of teenagers will render Elvis Presley obsolete and outdated.
When the Beatles were asked what their intentions are, a band member replied,
"Encourage people to smoke pot, do drugs, shoot heroin, and drop out of high school."
Another member added, "And to grow their hair down to their ass."
Yet another member said, "Sell music to you Americans that you already had access to
but didn't bother to appreciate until it became an imported Moptop product."

Actually, it was your brain, as evidenced by bitter, ignorant postings like the above.

Stop hijacking other people's threads with your CRAP. Just leave already.

Thanks for the clippings, they're as cool as reading Elvis' first newspaper interview in July 1954.

Go to hell Doc.

The Beatles and the 60s generation they influenced
did encourage and endorse more drug use/abuse
and juvenile deliquency and drop-puts than
ever before in history.

Shove your waterbong up your ass, hippie lover.

There was more to the 60s
than those g*ddamn Beatles.

Two words: De caf!!!

Pro-cop and anti-dope.

Can't fathom that can you?

In 1964, The Most Important Arrival in Music History

was .............

Dolly Parton arriving in Nashville to
begin her career in country & western music.

Piss on hippies.

Thanks Doc. CG,I thought you liked the early Beatles! :smt017 . Anyway sorry but I love them after EP of course.

Wed Feb 08, 2006 3:47 am

early Beatles, BBC, first 5 albums is okay

but the '67-70 skanky unwashed hippie LSD-ingesting
guru-following yoko walrus krishna crap era of the Beatles
is disgusting and a major problem-causing influence on society.

My all time favourites are The beatles and Elvis, and I can't believe still there are people posting that hippie-drugs crap.
What's important is the music, and I'd rather hear the White album than the speedway soundtrack. Abbey Road is a masterpiece.
The beatles are the greatest band ever. Yes, even better than Kiss, get over it.
I can see hardcore Elvis fans being jealous because beatles music aged a little better than Elvis music.

Not really. Imo the early Beatle's were good but were at first behind on a lot of the 50s music. I Want To Hold Yor Hand vs Baby Let's Play House. No contest. And the Memphis 69 sessions have aged just as well as anything from the fab 4. So there! :)

Funny, two other words spring to mind.

You're welcome. There are a few ignorant jerks on this MB who hijack threads that everyone else is enjoying, and I'm fed up.

javilu wrote:I can't believe still there are people posting that hippie-drugs crap.

This MB -- unfortunately -- allows the lowest common denominator. Thus, garbage like the above.

Drjohncrapenter has done his fair share
of hijacking threads and making bitter postings.

Go eat some LSD, Doc.

Some good Lennon-worthy tabs of acid

Amen, brother, amen.

Eat about 57 hits, man. Eat Lucy.

And listen to "Walrus" backwards. Real Art. Genius.

Bow at the feet of a phoney TM guru.

Have Yoko sit on your face. [gross]

You can tell just how early the first cutting is, as it doesn't even identify them properly. It has John as Paul, Paul as George, and George as John. :) Only Ringo is correctly named.
