Survivor winner Richard Hatch has been found guilty of tax evasion, and faces up to 13 years in prison. Serves the jerk right. And let me state for the record that it's not because he's gay that I can't stand the a$$wipe. Gay, bi, or straight he's simply a colossal jerk who needed a come-uppance! Looks like he's going to get one.

He claims that he wasnt told he would have to pay tax before the show started.
Surely he must have been told that or it was in the contract.
I would have thought that it would have been tax free anyway.
How many gameshow winners have to pay tax on their winnings?
I dont think he is being greedy and if the prize was a $1million then that is what he should get.

Actually, I was under the impression that they all
had to. Perhaps if the winnings exceeded a certain amount?

I don't watch the show. Never have, never will. But is the same guy that was on Battlestar Galactica and Streets Of San Francisco?

No, he was the first winner on Survivor
, he's a very annoying arrogant person.

I think anyone winning stuff has always had to pay taxes!! Even WAY
back when I started work, my principal's wife went on a game show and she said the answers were posted, but that people didn't give the correct answer because they had to pay taxes on the prizes. So she came home with a spiffy red sports car that my principal
drove to work every day!! Is spiffy
a really dated word??
