Some trivia:

When Bill's ex-wife committed suicide in her bathroom, her lover [in the next room] was so traumatised, she [yes, she] needed hospital treatment.

And Bill paid for it !

I never understood why Bill Bixby sold out and hosted "The Elvis Files" and the follow up, "The Elvis Conspiracy".
The 1st special was a rehash of the Gail Brewer-Giorgio fraud, and the strong ratings led to the follow up show, which focused on the facts which proved Elvis' death.
I always felt that Bixby was profiting from his co-star's death and the nation's refusal to let go of Elvis.

Well, it's all a part of life.

I love to hear how others are behaving [or misbehaving] !

G G - I'd completely forgotten The Magician !

Or had I ?

Bill doing magic tricks is a memory held somewhere in my subconscious.

Bill was one of the lucky ones, to do Elvis movies and have a lot of tv shows.

"My Favorite Martian"

"Courtship of Eddie's Father"

"The Magician"

"Incredible Hulk"

"Goodnight Beantown"

(just a list off top of my head)

then he started directing TV shows until his death.

- There's a great B&W Andy Griffith Show episode where Bill plays a smartass rich kid with a fast convertible and gets pulled over for speeding.
24 hours in the Mayberry jail - and words of wisdom from Andy - and Bill changes his attitude.

Colin, have you seen Steam Bath - a great Bixby film - which the reverent among us (unless they have a sense of humor) would not appreciate!!
