Once the seeds of doubt are sown in young thinking minds they will find out for themselves. That's what happened to all our young relatives...they all went to Christian schools (including our own children) but none...yes NONE. go to chapel or church on Sundays. Some of them would still say they are Christians, and some agnostic and some are Atheists. Few people actually bother to research the subject.
Again......a premise that proves nothing since the opposite is equally as true.
I was not raised in a Christian home. I researched over a decade for myself and accepted Christianity due to the empirical evidence, as did such great thinkers as Greenleaf, Blackstone,James Kennedy,Michael Youseff, etc.
Our own 11 year old grand - daughter, a very bright young child, is already questioning her Christian religion. The weight of Science is taking it's toll on young minds.
Not the weight of science, but the weight of the science she has been allowed to see. The intellectual and scientific blackout of pertinent scientifis fact which contradict the Theory is nothing less than totalitarian. It is based in fear........the same fear Dawkins displays whenever confronted by someone who can refute his speculations with fact (evidenced by his cowardly and unchanging response.......run away).
The proofs AGAINST evolution are far more convincing than the constantly morphing (due to genuine science constantly disproving the proposed mechanisms) evolutionary theses.
As for wars they are caused by humans whether Religious nut cases or power mad Atheists. Nevertheless their armies are usually made up of very religious people, and you know it.
Point??? The vast majority of people believe in a Deity of some sort......therefore, due to the statistics alone, most armies would consist of people who believe in Deity. Just as it would be absurd to point to the fact that an Army raised in Ireland would consist of mostly Irish, therefore the Irish are a war loving people.
The fact remains that the armies you referenced in the 20th century were headed by atheists. And the slaughter which ensued is theirs to own.
The same sort of superficial and vacuous argument Dawkins raises........and are easily refuted , unless one is prone to run away lest he be shown a fool........like Dawkins.
The word Atheist should really be replaced because I'm actually a believer...............in life. Mortal life.
Just take a long hard look at the unfortunates with a direct line to their special Almighty. Now there's an arrogance to marvel at

I dislike the word atheist.
How can you not believe in something that does not exist?
