Christmas and the PC brigade!

Fri Nov 18, 2005 10:14 am

Ho Ho Ho!

It was mentioned in a thread in the Elvis section that companies in America (naiming no names but Walmart's one of them), have been told not to say 'Happy Christmas' to customers. Similarly, in the UK, we get stories like these on a daily basis.....
Lib Dem Councillor Laura Willoughby and the councillors of ISLINGTON, North London have renamed Christmas lights “festive decorations” and arranged an Interfaith Celebration of Light.

The councillors of Lambeth tried to rename Christmas lights “Winter” or “Celebrity” lights earlier this month.

There was a threat to cut grants for decorations in Lowestoft — in case they offended non-Christians.

How much a cause for concern is this and how are different countries reacting to the apparent 'eradication' of Christmas??

Discuss! :D :smt111

Perhaps these people do not want to be beheaded like those poor Christian girls in Indonesia? Who, according to threats, were only a start of the beheadings of "non-believers".
