Mistake News: Wayne Manor burned

Sat Oct 08, 2005 8:20 am

news reported this week that the California wildfires destroyed a mansion that was used as "Wayne Manor" in the 1960s Batman tv show.

but - it turns out the mansion that burned wasn't on Batman

that mansion is in the vicinity - but wasn't damaged.

close call

I wasn't worried anyway. I hear the lawn of the mansion has built in "bat-sprinklers" that automatically come on when smoke is detected.

The flames would have never reached the mansion. Alfred would have been all over that one. Aunt Harriet probably wouldn't even have been alarmed.

errrrr....okay.
Alfred went back to England. He went to find that guy who fell down the well.

seriously, there was video footage on TV of the house burning down, and they said "..used on Batman..used on Batman..."

From what they showed on the program, it is a beautiful house. Do you have anymore information on it?

I'd like to know who owned it then and if they are still around.
