Lisa Marie and Chris Isaak in concert

Mon Jun 16, 2003 5:06 pm

Hi folks -
I saw an advertisment in the paper that Lisa Marie and Chris Isaak will be playing a double bill in Anderson S.C. in July. Interesting combination don't you think?

I wonder if they're married yet??

Lisa and Chris are touring all over together - she's also doing shows with the Goo Goo Dolls.

I'd be shocked if Chris hasn't asked Lisa out on a date yet

I think I might just go to one of their S.C. shows. She looks like the young Elvis and he sings and performs like the young Elvis, so between the two of them it will be kinda like seeing the young Elvis!

That's right, Pete. It IS an interesting combination. I thought she may shy away from doing dates with him simply because of the obvious references to her dad. Hey, whatever works!

Between the two of them it will seem like seeing the young Elvis?
Did you really say that?
I think I may have to go back and read your posting again, Pete. Maybe I dreamt that you said that. If it was a dream, then it sure must have been a nightmare.
I think maybe I will not read it again and pretend it never was said.
That might have been about the stupidist comment I've ever read.

If that is the "stupidist" comment you've ever read, you're not reading enough posts. :D

You are correct Khoots. That was not the stupidist comment I've read here. But it was pretty bad.

Jeff -
First of all I'd like to point out to you that my comment ended with a wink icon. That should have clearly indicated to you and everyone else that my comment was given and intended to be taken with tongue planted firmly in cheek.
Secondly, even in the worst case scenario (that I was serious), when you consider that I have a pretty good track record overall as far as reasonably solid posts, I think I'm entitled to committ the occassional faux pas without having to be hit with such a blatantly rude remark! Which brings me to my last point.
Jeff, when I saw that you were the author of the "stupidest comment" statement I was taken aback - and even a little hurt. You're normally one of the most reasonable-minded, respectful people on this mb, so your response was very out of character! It also exemplifies the kind of insulting personal attack that has caused alot of people to abandon this mb or only post on rare occassions. With the new format of this mb the FECC team has done a good job in greatly diminishing this kind of junk. But there's only so much they can do, we have to also police ourselves!
I think this mb would benifit greatly if we would all follow the old adage "if you don't have anything good to say, then don't say anything" when interacting with one another.

I wonder if he'll shag it.

Thu Jun 19, 2003 12:12 am

Yes, Colin, I will "shag it", whatever that means. I suppose it means to respond or answer to Pete's posting.
My apologies to you Pete. I've enjoyed many of your posts in the past. I didn't see the wink icon. I had a bad day, got some bad news and was just plain crabby when I read your post. I also made another posting that wasn't like myself that same night.
When I read the posting I thought you were serious. I really did. I thought, "how can anyone say something like that"?
Again, my apologies for jumping on you for that.

jeffrey -

Actually I was thinking of Chris & Lisa !

Jeff -
Thank you for the apology, I greatly appreciate it! No hard feelings.
As for Colin's "I wonder if he'll shag it" comment, he was engaging in a little blue humor. To put it in American slang, he was wondering if Chris Isaak will jump Lisa's bones.
