I'm not ashamed to say that I really like both of the Jeepers Creepers films. The first was scarier, but the second is fun too. Be sure to listen to the commentary by my buddy, Jonathan Breck, who plays the creeper.

I never saw the second one...but I did like the first.

Incidently would you compare Jeepers to Duel? I have never seen Duel and being a huge Spielburgh fan, I am betting this is long overdue.

Hey Genesim,

Duel is great. I remember LMAO when I first saw it, maybe 20 years ago, but not funny in a bad-movie kinda way. "He must have some kinda supped-up engine in there!"

I guess you could compare the 2. As Dennis Weaver is pursued throughout the movie by the truck driver intent on killing his @ss.

If you aint see it, it's definitely a blind buy.

Blind buy, that is what I like to hear. I get alot of movies like that, you just say Phuck it. Add to that the movie is 10 bucks in DTS sound at Walmart and it is a no-brainer. Thanks for the push!

No problema.

Duel is on AMC alot. Televise it first before buying iffin' you want.

It's interesting to watch to study what shots Spielberg did again later as a directing signature,
and that which he didn't try again.
Shots, and angles, and stuff like that.

There's a Weaver-on-payphone-seen-thru-round-window-of-laundry-dryer-door.

As for Spielbergisms,
the obligatory Dual Dialogue scene in Jurassic Park is so obvious and static it doesn't work imo.

Just not as natural as when he done them in Jaws and ET

OK thanks Tom, I'm one not to always listen to the commentaries, but I'll give this one a listen.
Only thing I didn't like about this DVD is the adverts at the beggining of the disc. Don't know if it's the same over there but you can't skip them or go directly to menu. You have to watch trailers for 2 other movies before you get to the menu. Can only fast forward through them. :x

Yes Genesim, I think you will like Duel!!! :D

The Blue and the Gray is a fantastic mini series with a superb cast.

Tom, how exactly have they recut this version - is it shorter or longer with additional scenes?

Wed Jul 27, 2005 6:07 am

There are elements of Duel in Jeepers Creepers, although I'd say The Hitcher (good movie) borrows more from Duel. I agree that the sequel to Jeepers Creepers does hold up - unfortunately the same can't be said for The Hitcher sequel.

I just got The CAR..... God this movie brought back memories of the summer of '77, I couldn't beleive that this movie still made me jump in my seat in a couple of places! lol To me this movie is a rip off in style of a Spielberg film style. ie Duel Duel rocks I would like to get that DVD myself. I thought it was interesting on the JAWS SE disc Spielberg was talking about the ending of both Duel & JAWS how he used the same sound effect from some old dinosaur movie, when both the shark and the truck die, yep sure enough its there.

I also picked up a copy of Grizzly, since I had enjoyed The CAR so much it was a disappointment. I remembered this as being as freightening as JAWS. It did not age well as a film, it is a total exploitation of JAWS. It doesn't even try to be anything else.

Also just got:
Oklahoma!
Penny Serenade
and these Elvis import titles on DVD  :
Elvis On Tour
The Lost Perfomances
The CBS Tapes
Jailhouse Rock (color)
Celebrating A King
King Of Spades
Summer Fest
