"Elvis Story" Show In Atlantic City
Has anyone here heard any reviews on the "Elvis Story" show in Atlantic City? The show opened July 5th and runs through August at Harrah's.
I've been hearing some very positive compliments on the performer and was just wondering if anyone here has.
Thanks!

The show is highly regarded. FECC's own Jamie Aaron Kelley is taking over from the current performer, Martin Fontaine, but I don't know exactly when.
The picture on the poster is Martin Fontaine, but the difference between what he looks like on stage and without the make up is striking:

EDIT - OK, the poster in the thread above has been changed, so it's no longer Martin.
I'm sure Jamie is doing a fine job. He has a great voice.

"ELVIS STORY" In Atlantic City, New Jersey
Rich...thanks for posting the "Poster" on the Elvis Story. I found out this AM that the pic on the poster IS JAMIE AARON KELLEY!!! However, the 2nd pic you posted is Martin Fontaine.
Here's what I have learned about the show...Martin was to start the show on July 5th but due to conflicts...JAMIE started July 5th with only 2 and 1/2 days of rehearsal.
I just returned from seeing the show the last 3 nights and all I can say is, "WOW!" I hope everyone gets the opportuninty to see this young man perform the "ELVIS STORY." Then come back here and let us know your thoughts...
The "buzz" is, a couple in Australia heard about the show and came up this past weekend to see for themselves! They were NOT disappointed! Also, I spoke with a lady from Switzerland who came for opening night of the show expecting to see Martin. She was disappointed to learn Jamie was starting the show...HOWEVER, her comment was after the first 2 or 3 songs..."I was NOT disappointed any longer! I was just in awe of JAMIE AARON KELLEY! He's fantastic!"
I do believe ELVIS would be proud of the "ELVIS STORY" show...it's such a classy production, the singers, the dancers, the band, the sets, the entire cast & production team...and JAMIE AARON KELLEY!!!
It's just "TOTALLY AWESOME!!!"

Thats great I'm glad you liked it! Jamie is a really nice person, you can tell from his posts when he comes on here from time to time!2Elvis wrote:Rich...thanks for posting the "Poster" on the Elvis Story. The picture changed! It was Martin before - but it must have been updated - the picture is linked directly from the website.
Jaime looks good, too! From reading his posts, he definately seems like a down-to-earth guy.
Now I'm REALLY interested in this show.
I'm one of those people that don't like impersonators. But I might have to make an exception in this case. The show is getting nothing but good reviews, and I would like to hear Jaime perform. He's supposed to have a very good voice.
Hey Jamie - if something happens to the band's drummer, let me know!

Thank GOD that they've used Jamie Aaron Kelly to replace Martin Fontaine and not some other dork like Jonathan Rhyls Focker.
I have a fantastic double digi-pak cd album from BMG France THE ELVIS STORY with the singing voice of Martin Fontaine. I hope BMG USA will issue another album with the excellent voice of Jamie Aaron Kelly. That will be real wonderful. I've never been a fan of Impersonators but these 2 guys are exceptions!

All of the pictures of him portraying Elvis look really good, except the last one. This just makes me shake my head even more that they didn't get this guy for the mini series. Shurly he auditioned. Maybe they didn't pick him because the show only focused on the 50s and 60s.

Hey, everybody!
Might be on a bit now, Harrah's doesn't have internet except for a very expensive web-tv, so I ordered Earthlink in addition to my cable net service at home so I can actually get online... lol
You all are great, I can't tell you how good it feels to read all this - and I can't thank you enough.
The show is an absolute blast - it's 90min, has 12 costume changes in that time - it's a $700,000 production, and it has some small bits of acting for me, which is cool. We're on every night of the week except Saturday, shows are at 8:00pm except Fridays at 9:00pm (for anybody interested in coming). We'll be here until the end of September, so if you're REALLY bored (lol), come out and see it. And I'm not one to sit and talk too much about my own things - but I'm amazed by this show, and very proud to be in it.
And my website will be making a huge change in the next few months which will surprise some people and make some happy, I'm looking forward to that, too.
Rich, you should come down, if for nothing else than just to say hi - I've had many friends come out to the show, so if anybody from FECC comes, be sure to stay after the show and say hi, I'd love to hear opinions and suggestions and just to chat.
Thanks for posting that, Keith - just so everybody knows, that's my own style, not me trying to sound like Elvis. I put some new sounds on my main site http://www.jamieaaronkelley.com for anybody who wants to hear when I am trying, just bare in mind that I'm not as happy with "Always On My Mind", but won't have time to change it until I get back.
Have a good one, everybody!
Sincerely,
Jamie

All the best Jamie! I am so proud of you and I can only imagine how proud you must be!
You are truley one of the good guys with a very special and unique talent. I hope I can attend one day but it will need to be in Vegas as AC is just to far away.
Hey, stay away from the AEK site. I only occasionly visit and read. You are much to good for that site.
All the best, knock em dead!

Great to hear you got this gig Jamie, as I don't know of anyone that deserves it more than you. Elvis would be proud if you ask me.
Unfortunately being so far away from Atlantic City, back here in what is also your home state, I won't be able to see the show.
Is there anyway that a video or dvd of the show will be available for purchase at sometime? Would love to see it.
Ryan

Hi, Sean! Hi, Jeff!
Thank you!! I'm having the time of my life. The only sad part is that I'm going to miss Elvis Week - and I haven't missed an Elvis Week since 1983, so that's really something - so if anybody goes, be sure to take pictures and send 'em to me!!
We had people who flew from England for one night, just to see the show, and they plan on coming back. Also had folks with the same situation from Switzerland, France, and Canada. I'm absolutely amazed by that.
I've always tried to put as much honesty and respect for Elvis as an artist as I can when I'm playing the part. For my own stuff, I just do what I think sounds best whether it sounds like something Elvis would do or not. But I do know what you're saying, and I really appreciate it, it means a lot.
As for the UK, I sure hope so! There are overseas plans possibly, but they're talking more EU than UK, but you never know. It'd be cool to meet you, Keith, TJ, and all the other UK posters I've gotten to know on here!
Hi, B-G!
Cloud 9 is about 10 miles down right now.. lol
EPE has requested that the show not play Vegas (all the other Elvis acts out there it's a bit cliched' and they want to stay away from that, at least that was my impression), but hopefully we'll be out that way somewhere.
Yeah, I find I'm way to busy now to even mess with AEK, it'd be different if they actually talked about Elvis without taking the good time to hit each other in the head. That board needs a house social worker or something.. lol All kidding aside, this is my favorite board and always will be, followed by the Elvis Insiders. And to start to gain even a bit of acceptance here is one of the things I'm most proud of - hope I don't sound too corny saying that.
Hi, Ryan!
Right now there aren't any DVD plans, as that's a whole load of red tape that I don't blame them for not wanting to mess with. I don't know if you get KCCI, (the Des Moines CBS affilliate), but they did a thing about me and the Elvis Pinball Machine around the time of the mini-shi...um.. mini-series, but they're not thinking of coming out this way to do a story about the show - so you might be able to catch a bit of it that way? I'll keep you posted.
Take care everybody!
Sincerely,
Jamie

Jamie.....great to hear from you, and congrats on your success!!!! You are the only one who has been able to show me the difference between an imitator and a Tribute Artist. I appreciate the respect and artistry(and just flat-out TALENT) you bring to the table. You're a rare breed, and I hope to get to see the show before you move on to even bigger and better things.
If anyone hasn't visited Jamie's website, I recommend that you do at the link he provided.
