Kingdom of Heaven

I've see the commercial for this upcoming movie a couple of times. It looks like it's going to be a great film. Basically it's about a young athiest blacksmith in Jerusalem during the crusades who becomes a knight, and comes to faith. Orlando Bloom is the lead, Ridley Scott the director. I've read that it's not going to be black & white (Christians the good guys, Muslims the bad guys), but is going to try to present the perspective of both sides.
One thing I've been wondering about. Can Orlando Bloom carry a film of this magnitude? The Rings trilogy was an ensemble effort. Bloom was good in Pirates of the Carribean, but that was really Johnny Depp's movie. So I'm a bit apprehensive whether Bloom can pull this off. Comments?

Pete -

With a half-decent script, he could pull it off.

Pity about that sad ending.

With quite a lot of films I've watched pulling it off was ending in itself!
